Anyone find a good source for replacement rubber buttons on the key fobs? I want to add remote start to my 2015 (with a hood switch and Alfa OBD programming) but need to get the rubber pad for my fobs that have the remote start button (my key fob circuit has the button - just not the rubber pad part). The ones I am seeing on Amazon have bad reviews and either have the panic button too big so it goes off all the time or have poor reviews in general. Any ideas to avoid the cost of buying new OEM ones?

Not sure which ones you're looking at on Amazon - I bought mine from there and it's been working fine for a couple years now.

Many locksmiths are carrying FOBs now & the same locksmiths have a programming tool.

I know that ACE Hardware can do it, but call them before you go there, my local Ace Hardware was told to stop doing it, due to the pandemic.

Most Locksmiths are here charge $ 90. to program a Fob & cut the Valet Key. i found a locksmith that would do it for $ 49.
I didn't ask how much they charge for the brand new OEM Fob, because i bought one for $ 49.95 from

If your Ram uses a Proximity Key, (Keyless Entry) they cost more, but they are less than half the price that the dealer charges, for the exact same key, OEM Ram

On my 2018 ram 2500 tradesman I’m having trouble getting the fobs I bought programmed to the truck. All the info I’ve found online shows that you have to hit the panic button while the key is in the switch, which is impossible. So I suppose I’ll have to pay to have it programmed.

Pretty sure the switch is part of the hood latch assembly. The wiring and possibly a related fuse should be in place already.
The fob would need the contact disk behind the button for remote start as well.
