Hi all, got a predicament here.
Bought the 2014 Ram from a large Chevrolet dealer and only received one key fob with key. They said they would provide me with a replacement so I will have two fobs and keys.
Went to the dealer today as this was when the RAM person who services keys/fobs was there. They tried for 30 minutes to program a new fob and gave up. Says that they will have to special order one that will work with the truck.
I thought a key fob was pretty common thing these days and programmed easily, but apparently they change codes/procedures/security/whatever every so often and the fobs don't always work. Wonder if I'm getting the run around or does this really occur? Was thinking of buying one off the Internet but if it can not be programmed what's the point?
Any suggestions? I just know I will absolutely have to have a 2nd or 3rd fob in case of loss or breakage.
