Do we know what the replacement part number will be under warranty vs what we can order?
If you replace it yourself will be covered under warranty? I'm not sure?
I don't know what the part number is. It wasn't mentioned in the Youtube video. I'm sure once people start getting them replaced, the part number would become available.

Dropped the truck off this morning to get the cruise control recall done. Said it would take most of the day.......Well long story short, got a call hour later saying the flash killed the Pcm. They bricked my PCM !!!! Is this a possibility if done right???

what concerns me is that they said it would take most of the day when the update takes 20 minutes, and then in an hour they called and said they bricked it

Did they try to add AutoPark as well? Thats the one that could take a while (3-4 hours), and it updates multiple modules across the truck.

Lol, wouldnt that be something! Wonder if there are different flashes for 2014, 8spd and 6spd

If its for AutoPark, I dont think it can even get added to the 6 speed.

The reason I mentioned it is because I think 2014 was the year they started the 8 speed (mid-year? not sure) So imagine if a "seasoned" tech just started to load up the 8 speed flash on a truck with the 6 speed.....

did you get the notice in the mail? do you know what the number was? I know my truck was U-61, but my 2018 charger 392 was U-68 and the recall for the 2017 5.7 charger I traded in was U-62

Ill have to look. But i believe the dealer sent me a text saying that there was another recall (cruise) along with the park recall. Would i like them both done at same time.

I dont think the AutoPark applies to the 6 speed.

I would hope the update(s) would be smart enough not to execute if it doesnt see the correct transmission, but who knows....

Great........now to try and find out if there is 1 flash for both the 6spd and 8spd or if the flash is trans specific.

If I recall right there was a recall for the 6 speeds with floor or column mounted shifters, and I think it had something to do with park, but it was a completely different issue. The one for the 8 speed is because of the dial shifter.
