I’ve got a new to me 2020 Ram 3500 Diesel and was wondering what’s the largest tire that will fit without a lift. I’ve read in a couple places (google search) the answer is 35” tires (35x12.50x20) will fit on my stock 8” wide rims and fit the truck without rubbing.

What do you guys think?

I’ve searched all the other threads. Everyone else is asking about 1/4 ton trucks. Since mine is a 1 ton I thought the answer would be different. As I said I’ve read 35s are the max without doing some trimming but I’d like to confirm that before I order tires…

Do you have a dually or single rear tires? From what I've seen a 35 inch tire will work without a lift.

I know a 35" will go on the 2500 with the off road package. I had some test fitted but could only locate 2 tires so ended up I went with 33.4 in the 275 -70 -18, which is basically stock.

If you have the 20inch rims, there is a 295/65R20 that will be 35 inches tall and just a little wider than the OEM 285/60R20 OEM size.

If you have the 18inch rims, there is a 285/75R18 that will be close to 35 inches tall and about a 1/2 inch wider than the OEM 275/70R18.

I do have 20’s and it’s a single rear wheel. Sorry i should have mentioned that. It’s got 285/60R20s on it now. I’ll check in to the 295/65s but it seems like last time I went with passenger tire 35s (that don’t have the the numbers printed on the side like 35 x 12.50-15) they were in the 300s - like 325/75 or something to that effect. I know the first number is width and the second is aspect ratio right? I know I want something a little wider than the donuts it came with. Heh. You can’t drive it with the traction control off. It just spins them.

295/65R20's are 35.1 inches tall and 11.6 inches wide. They're a little bit wider than the stock size tire (almost a half inch). You'd be better off with the taller than wider, even though they're slightly wider, the contact patch on the ground will be longer front to back than the OEM size. More wheel on the ground that way.

35's, 37's fit without rubbing if you do a level. This is obviously wheel offset dependent.
