Ok guys before I pull the trigger and go pick these up at discount sometime within now and the next 2 weeks, I have decided on the nitto terra grapplers. For money reason and my wants I was going with a 305/50/20 and saw these that are 305/50/20xl... What's the difference??? Oh and 230 ain't bad if I can get discount to match bc they want 283 a tire

XL is lighter with less plys. "D" load rating as opposed to "E", IIRC.

just putting it out there but if you do anything off road, I would not suggest there tires. I had them in 35s and hated them on everything that was not dry pavement. just an FYI

sorry man just had to give fair warning. After the terras I went with the ProComp Extreme ATs. Love em, so much so that both my genII and genIII have the same tire(only difference is rim size 16 v 17). Only other tires I can say anything about from hands on experience is the hankook dynapro atm. They came on my truck when I got them and was very happy with them. Never got them in mud but they did great on the snow and ice roads up here(which I assume you dont see much off lol). Also did very well on the trails here. I can not speak on price for either of these. I know terras are a great priced tire(that why I bought them when I did). Hope you can find something that fits your price range that you will be happy with.

Hmmm.... Yeah that's why I was gonna get emm... I may see mud once a blue moon and trails much more frequently but nothing serious etc... More like trails to deer stands etc... And spot lighting pigs. Gonna look at prices but they may turn me away

Tha is a ton though Reece for the input, really appreciate it!!!

I did mud a bit with the terras. One thing I learned is with some mud pits......speed can make up for some tires. lol

Been happy with mine. Haven't seen alot of mud and such, but a little, along with fields/trails and they have been good. So for minimal offroading, I think you should be ok.

I have had almost every tire on the planet on numerous trucks ... mud , at , ect ...

Best tire for the miles and all conditions hands down for me are Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ's .

i know you are going for less expensive, but how much more is it for 305/55/20's? they will at least still be very close to stock height

If you want less expensive and extreme traction. I had these on a spare set of rims for my truck. They do make a hell of a noise and dont last long. But really cheap!

Super Swampers Amazon.com: Super Swamper LTB-09 LTB 34X10.50-17LT: Automotive

Might not be the best for the Highway though.. But they do not get stuck.

Got a vid on my truck thread of them in action.

I agree. They wear like cast iron and have reasonable grip. Not for a dedicated mud truck/sand truck etc. But its a super jack-of-all-trades tire with good durability.

See guys I need something that has more road manners than off road capabilities.... Thus the terra grapplers....I'm not gonna take this truck through mud pit etc and don't need a mt but still need an at that can rock the trails every now and then

Not the size you were looking for exactly, however, these tires are excellent all around tires.

Firestone Destination A/T White Letters&partnum=755SR0DESTATOWL&tab=Sizes

I would also recommend the Cooper AT3 for "do all" tires if they have them in your size range.

Those are more expensive than the tires he's looking at($270 vs like $230). Plus he has 20" wheels not 17" wheels
