I washed my truck today and after drying most of it off I noticed a small trickle of water on the pass side of the rear glass inside. Getting a strong light and looking at it, it looked to be seeping some moisture between the glass and the frame. I took a couple of pictures when I was finished and didn’t think to do so before I dabbed up the few drops on the glass. The piece of tape points to the approximate point it was daylighting.

Not much to see and since the truck was nearly dried off I didn’t feel like doing a water test. I’ll do so the next time I wash it and before taking into the dealer.

Anyone else have a corner leak like this? I know about the early Gen V frame cracks and leaks around the central slider glass. If so did they pull the glass/frame to reset it or try to inject some sealer down in the seal area?

Yes there have been others with this same problem. Not sure if anyone here has posted about it but I've read threads in other forums that people have had this same type of leak.

The glass is bonded to the frame so they can't remove the glass to reseal it. Not sure how they will deal with it now but I suspect they'll probably try to fix it with sealer first. In years past they would just replace the entire thing but they've changed how they're dealing with rear window leaks.

From another forum I am a member of, the link below is the product numerous others recommend.

They state excellent results. Fortunately, I have not had a leak in my truck so far. But, I have the known defect for the third brake light and the back window frame crack/leak and live in the expectation, that it will occur and I check almost every storm.

Good luck with the repair.

I will try to isolate its location the next time I wash it and give the dealer a shot at it. They seem pretty reputable. If that doesn’t do it then I’ll try the flowable sealer - thanks.

Yeah quite a few people have had success using the Permatex flowable silicone. I bought a couple tubes in case the new window in our truck starts to leak. The latest TSB for this says to use a 2 part urethane adhesive...

2019 Ram here, I'm on my 3rd rear window replacement for leaks. It costing Ram so money they have changed the repair to flowable Urethane. If it was my truck and under warranty, I would insist on a replacement rear window. That was the TSB until last summer. Lots posts on here about rear window leaks if you search for it.

DanAR: Is that leak on the passenger side? Looks to be in the same spot where I have a leak.

Yes passenger inside corner. Looked to be seeping between the frame and glass. But the top of the glass has a bit of curve to it so it could be leaking anywhere on the passenger side and daylighting towards the corner. So I’ll water test it starting in the corner and moving towards center.

The trucks a little over a year old and I always hand wash it and never saw a leak there before. Irritating.

I have a 2021 Limited. Had the same issue, took it to my local dealer for a leak earlier this year. After being told Ram only warranties glass for 12 months 12k miles. Mine was past this of course. I pointed to the TSB and was told my VIN was not involved. I pushed hard for a replacement and had to pay $100.00 for a warranty work order. Whole process was over 6 weeks to get the vehicle back. They also had to fog the interior due to mold growth. Ask me how happy I am. I filed for warranty extension on electronics and was turnwd down from Ram Care. My advice is push for replacement. Do it now and don not wait. I still feel this needs to be a class action on this issue.

I own a 2021 and mine developed to same leak. I purchased it used earlier this year and the factory warranty has already run out. I brought it to my local dealer and inquired about the TSB and was told my VIN wasn't covered. They referred me to a 3rd party glass company that they said they use since they don't do any glass work in house. I plan on following up with Ram Care, but from everything I've been reading online it seems they aren't acknowledging any issues with 2021 and newer trucks. The flowable sealant seems like the cheapest way to fix the problem. I'm amazed Ram is so cheap that they haven't extended that repair option to cover all the trucks with this problem.

If only they’d change making vehicles with leaks!

Due to cracks on both left and right side interior slider frame the entire rear window with slider was replaced under extended warranty. It all comes as one unit with wiring to a control module mounted on rear wall near rh hub.

Had the same problem in March of last year in my 2020 Laramie . After repeated trips to the dealership it was found that I had 4 cracks in the rear sliding window frame. Hosing the rear cab I could see where the leaks originated. Mine was covered by a new RAM extended warranty to replace the entire rear window. Had to wait 7 weeks for parts, but that fixed the leaks. Since yours is a ‘23, it should be covered by warranty but you may want to check.

I’m not sure the 23s would be covered as the design of the window has changed. There isn’t any exposed to the outside frame on the new ones.

Just a thought: If you are still under warranty, I would be at the dealership having a Big Convo with Service Advisor, not just assume. Those rear window assemblies not the cheapest, lol But that is just me, and how I roll (gobble). Dealership here contracts out the work for the rear windows: and the installer actually came to my house and did all on site.

Doubt they'll fix the problem causing the leaks.....Honda Ridgelines have been leaking since 2006 and Honda still denies it.
