Sorry for yet another LED question but I'm at my wits end on this. I have a 2014 Outdoorsman with factory NON LED light bulbs.
So I'm curious: Why do you want to replace the bulbs with LED bulbs? Sorta seems like you're letting yourself in for a boatload of trouble for no gain.

Honestly there was no advantage other than to modernize the truck a little. In retrospect it might be a lot more effort than I realized. This is more of a complete assembly with new running lights and sequential turn signals rather than just bulbs. I do plan on replacing the headlights because they are so dim compared to the new trucks. I hate the yellow compared to the bright white wide angel view. However, depending on how this goes I may not attempt that. It's a way for me to keep my baby longer until the engine goes. :) Really don't want to take a new loan when its paid off and running like a champ.

Update!

I received the 10 ohm and 16 ohm resistors that I bought. I started with 10 and tested. Same result. Then tried the 16 and same result. So I decided to completely remove the resistor (left the wires disconnected where they were on the resistor and it works! So my question is.... is it ok not to have the resister if the light functions as intended? Or will I blow something up not having it on there. Because for some odd reason it works. lol

It did throw bulb codes for all the lights and I can tell they are hyper flashing. I may try a 6ohm or alpha odb to set them as led. When the headlights are on the turn signals still work but the opposite turn signal shows some led which prevents me from putting this into production.

I think at this point you should go back to the company who made these taillights and tell them the issue. You bought something from them that doesn't work so, IMO, it's their job to figure it out or refund your purchase.

Changing the resistor value is very unlikely to solve this problem. Ram truck years 2014 & 2015 have shown to be more challenging to upgrade without using AlfaOBD.

I usually advise members to use LED products that have a proven track record with the specific year of their Ram truck unless they are independently wealthy and have endless time for tinkering.

I would suggest you either get set up with AlfaOBD or abandon this adventure unless you enjoy self torture and frustration.

Or, you're independently wealthy and have endless time for tinkering.

Solving this issue before the Amazon return window expires or returning the lights might be prudent.

I received as a gift so I didn't have any input on the brand. I have tried about every resistor and combination thereof. I decided to get AlfaOBD and see if I can figure it out from there. It's so frustrating that they work great when the truck is off. ugh If that doesn't work at least I have some really good diagnostic tools. thanks for everyone's help. I did just replace all the bulbs with new ones so there's that at least.
