I used a lemon law attorney out of GA. who went the warranty resolution route with chrysler, took a year to be resolved and receive a settlement.
He was a get paid only if he wins attorney. So they examine your case ahead of time and decide weather to except it or not. It was a long miserable process. If you actually hired a attorney I would hope it would go quicker, not sure. However if you don't want to pay that 1k or 1.5k in advanced there are options.

Good luck

What exactly would the settlement be? Do they replace the truck and give you some kind of additional damages for the trouble or how does it work?

That's what I'm gonna find out... they will give me a new truck... what else I don't know. Bad thing is I have a topper / rear air bags / leveling kit / floor mats / bug & window deflectors... All that has to come off an be reinstalled.... an topper has to be repainted cuz they changed the paint color somewhat.

The settlements tend to be large if they can agree for you to keep your truck, like in the neighborhood of 8 to 14 grand. Plus they still have to fix any warranty issues. But that is in Cali, it differs from state to state. In cali you only need to have the repair attempted 4 times in 18 months after buying it new, and you win no questions. They will settle your case before they get to court, either chnage your vehicle and pay your attorney fees or give you cash. I got 13k but lawyer kept 3, for a pretty basic fix. the dealer said it was a small issue and they weren't going to fix it under their bumper to bumper warranty, and I said we'll see about that! Got paid and they still had to fix it. They first offered 10, and I was a little **** and said no to f with them like they f'd with me, and ended up getting offered 13k next and I laughed all the way to the bank. You have to claim the entire award on you taxes, so make your lawyer tell you he will claim his own portion in his own taxes IN WRITING.

So if you get 13k and he gets 3k, you will only have to claim 10k. But that is not the law in Cali, UNLESS it is in writing. I doubt with a 2012 that you would have any rights unless you had 4 attempts in the first 18 months of ownership.

Here's the law in it's entirety.

If they are going to give you a new truck, I would take it in a second. The 2014 will have the 8 speed tranny and all new everything.

Lol! How did you guess?
It took along time and it is quite difficult to get answers. But in the long run it was at no cost to me.

Since mine was a warranty resolution it was a check for the repair estimate.
I am not completly sure how it works with a actual lemon law.

I contacted them and they gave me instructions on what all they needed to get the process started, they were fairly timely in getting the ball rolling and then the waiting began. :biggun:

Yeah, not making a truck right is different then not being able to fix it imo. OK I get it, accidents and flaws happen in assembly, but common if they can't fix it after 4 times, give me a new truck you assholes! We shouldn't even have to get lawyers for this.
