i have a 2009 Dodge Ram and I purchased the lifetime unlimited miles warranty. I am trying to find out if the starter is included in that warranty?

Did you purchase some other kind of lifetime warranty on top of the lifetime powertrain warranty that FCA was offering at no cost on all new vehicles back in 2008, 2009? If the starter is defective I would say yes, if it’s worn out probably not.

IMG_2962.jpg I'm just guessing here, but by the time you pay a $100 deductible for the cheapest/rebuilt starter they can find, you'd be better off just paying for it.

Cut out the guesswork and contact the warranty company, if they still even exist.

$75 core charge

I watch this lawyer on YouTube. Steve Lehto. He is a lemon law attorney. He discusses many topics.
The whole “Lifetime warranty” was a topic he did a few months ago.
You must read the fine print because they don’t tell you. You must take your vehicle in for a checkup at either 50K or 60k intervals. I can’t remember which.
Most people don’t and it gives them reason to void your warranty.
There’s always a catch..

Gotta find a good dealer or they will act like they can't find the problem even if you have the warranty.

There is no inspection for the max care lifetime warranty. Yes op, if you have the lifetime max are, the starter is covered.

Yeah, the whole inspection thing was on a previous product. I have read my contract (Lifetime Maxcare) and there's no mention of it. I also asked the dealer and they said it's not necessary.

I miss quoted what he said. Plus it may be a different year that he is discussing.

That is only for the free lifetime powertrain warranty that Daimler Chrysler included for the original purchasers of 2007 through 2009 (?) Vehicles, no the purchased Lifetime warranties..

Yes the started is covered. My 2007 Pacifica came with the Lifetime warranty . However I has a $100 deductible. I had over $2,800.00 in deductibles, and the Pacifica had 148,000 miles. The only thing tat was still original was the engine block and heads. Fuel pumps went out very frequently, air condition failed time after time. Batteries were ate up like candy, front end parts, you mane it filed.

The Pacifica drove very nice it was comfortable, but it was just a bad vehicle.

He is talking about lifetime Mopar service contract, not the free warranty.

Depends if you got the Maxcare or not. I’m lost cases the max care extended lifetime is just like the 3/36 original less a deductible.

However..... there is a huge loophole.... lifetime is considered 10 years in many States for a motor vehicle. Also, they may check the blue book price of the vehicle and state that the cost of repair is more than it is worth so..... c ya.... but for a starter I think it would be covered.

If you have the MoPar Max Care unlimited mileage and the vehicle is worth more than the repairs yes it is covered.

You can down load the complete warranty/extended service agreement.

I have went through all 3 of our vehicles' Max Care with a fine tooth comb. Although not an authority I feel I know Max Care. I know on our '09 Town and Country to keep the power train in warranty we had to have it inspected at some mileage, I think at 100,000 miles or maybe 75,000.

If they can show abuse then that is a different situation.

As my military dad used to say, "know the rules".

My 2009 came with lifetime power train . Inspection every 5 years . also bought the lifetime max care .

Put 442,150 on my 2009 , sold it in December of 2019 .
one of the last items for repair was front wheel bearings .
Fca replaced them around 275,000 . This one they denied saying wear and tear. Then the lady came back and said “ your truck has outlived its life expectancy.
