Ok guys , need your help on this please .
I have got a Ram 1500 Laramie with a 6 inch Zone lift kit on it . but I have some sag on my truck and the ride sucks . so I wanna order the front Bilstein 5100 Series Offroad Shocks to fix the sag and improve the ride .
My question in : (( Do I need to order the front and rear shocks or the front will do ? )) are the rear shocks better the the Nitro black shocks I got from Zone are they are almost the same . I really do wanna pay more than I should ..:killer:

I'm assuming by sag you mean the front is lower than the rear? If so, you only need the Front Bilstein 5100s. If you want to improve the ride, then order the rear but they do not lift the truck, only the front do.

Next measure your current rake of the truck (fender height). This will give you a better idea what lift setting you'll want to use on the front shocks to level it with the rear.

yes your correct . its the rake am talking about . i need more Clearance in the front as I do some offroading with my truck . and I know that the rear will not give me any more lift from the rear . I want to get the rear shocks only if they will improve the ride . but looks like the I will order the front only and see how things go .

If you have new shocks from the lift in the rear, I would just get the front to help level the truck and see how those shocks perform. If you're not happy after that, you can always get the rear shocks too. Good luck man!

thank you , thats what am going to do , but there is one more thing . when installing the shocks in the front , should i remove the preloud kit that came with the lift as there are 2 parts . 1 - is a strut extension and 2 - a preloud kit also over the shocks . ???

Big Horn is correct, take out the preloaded spacer. You will mount your factory coils on the Bilstein strut and then mount the strut extension from the lift kit on top of the strut and re-install. Remember that you will need an alignment after wards

Guys I sent an email a while ago to Bilstein , and look what did they reply to me !!!

Bandar,

Unfortunately, Bilstein does not make any shocks that will work on the 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 4WD with that much lift.

Thanks,
Kevin Foote

They all say this.... (usually when a '12 is mentioned)
many guys are running Bilsteins with 6" lifts on this board
You'll be ok
