So I had one of those mystery squeaks shortly after (maybe 10k miles after, not really sure) installing a leveling kit. Turned out it was my strut mounts, both of them. They were surprisingly bad, like completely shot, gouged a large area out of my lift spacers. I'll see if I can attach a couple pics.

Anyways, now it's been 2 months since new strut mounts and it seems that the passenger side has already gone bad (same squeak is back).

So, my question is - is there a remedy to this? Alignment issue maybe? I just got an alignment but I think it was before I put the new strut mounts on. The truck drives perfectly straight down the road and alignment doesn't appear to be an issue.

Also, if I was to just say screw it to the leveling kit and buy a full on 6" lift, am I going to still have issues with the strut mounts?20190714_181423.jpg 20190714_163352.jpg 20190714_181513.jpg

I had the exact same issue. Those spacers are garbage. Did a real 4" Superlift and it's never happened since.

There’s a couple other threads on this, but basically that style of spacer doesn’t support the top of the strut and leads to the failure you’re seeing. The only option is to get a different brand of spacer that is not open on the top (Rough country is one), or go up to a 4” or 6” lift like you suggested. Either one uses a different design that doesn’t leave the top of the strut open to damage like that.

If you're happy with a level just do the Bilstein 5100s up front imo.

I installed my bills at +2.8" about 60,000 miles ago , there settled about 1/4 - 3/8" , still ride great and never had an issue [emoji1360][emoji1360]

that is a common issue with those. They are highly NOT recommended to run. We can set you up with a Bilstein shock that will level your truck or we can get you set up with a lift kit. We recommend Zone but do offer many other brands as well!
