Hi guys and congrats on your purchase. Don't see this info anywhere, so can any of you confirm or deny if your power running boards light up when deployed? Seems like a no brainer at night, but?

Love the idea of lights on them but....negative. Like stated, only mirror lights. For what it's worth, I believe they are pretty illuminated once you open the door to actually step on them. I can try to take a picture tonight.

That would be great if you have the time. My mom is 88, and in good shape, but the step looks narrow and in the dark could be a problem, even with me behind to help of course. Kind of surprising not to have a nice light on the running boards, especially on the Limited.

I didn't forget!....well, I sort of forgot. But more importantly, I remembered. So here are the following pics; running boards at normal height, and entry/exit height. Pretty minimal. Step from the power board to the cab itself would be more of an issue for her possibly. I took a picture of the running board at night for the driver and a rear passenger. Realistically, it would benefit greatly from some lights. I'm assuming that will be standard within a few years because like you said, it's a no brainer.

These photos uploaded funny so I'll attempt to explain. One is with ride height normal, then width of the actual running board itself, then with the vehicle lowered, then from the running board to the cab. First night picture is of the rear door, next is of the drivers side door.

Thanks! I am guessing your limited is not equipped with the OFF_ROAD package.

Thanks! At work here I'm not getting the photos, but later today at home I hope they come through.

Ok, got the pics here at home. I guess the mirror light sort of does the job, but looks like a good reason to add some extra lights along the runner. Thanks for posting these, appreciate your time.

WTF?? Why does everyone have to refer to the side step bumpers as "running boards"?? They are most certainly NOT running boards. There isn't an ounce of wood in them.

That "boards" term went out in the 70's when running boards were just that...BOARDS. wood.
Now, they are referred to as "side step bumpers".

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? Only 5 post and you jump into a thread criticizing every one!
Maybe you should contact this company and let them know that they are using the wrong terminology.....

Maybe thats a regional thing, I've never heard them called side step bumpers. Maybe side steps, but bumpers?!?

I absolutely love my 2019 RAM 1500 Limited--except the running boards (side step bumpers). They are slippery and flimsy. I'm not sure why they wouldn't have some sort of grip or texture to them. Also, they flex a LOT when someone heavy uses them.

Thinking about buying some grip tape or even just coating them with truck bed liner. What do other Limited owners think?
