I am at the point in upgrades that new long tube headers seems right. Looked at the jba, Holley, and BBK shorties and the long tube seem to be a better choice for me. Also looked at the aFE long tunes but the 409 vs 304 for approximately the same price eliminated them.
Anyone with experience with these headers? I kinda held off knowing I will need a tune etc, but they are sweet.

I just installed the afe long tubes and y pipe race series kit (no cats) my truck is a 2015, I ordered the 2019 setup as I didn't see the race series for 2015 it bolted right up except for the O2 sensor extensions but I made them longer and I had to cut off the rear flange as my setup didn't have that. All in all very happy with the looks fit and performance. I 100% reccomend afe quality is great and the name is known for good stuff.

I think I saw your post about the BBK. That kept me away (all that work for garbage)! What you end up with?

AFE, what are you seeing with the power band? Did you get a tune immediately?

I'm still running a canned tune from diablo. Gonna get a Jay Greene tune tho. Without the cats I lost a bit of bottom end but gained a ton of top end. That said I'm running straight pipes so once I get a muffler and new tail pipes I'll probly have my bottom end back. Don't reccomend running straight pipes unless ur a country liver like me. City you wouldn't make it a block lol.

Is there a particular reason you are not considering ARH long tubes--except price?

Did you also order 2019 to get 304? Seems the 2019 stuff is 304 vs 409 on the previous generation. You may have given me inspiration to get the 2019 shorties in 304.

304 was a major selling point, they didn't offer the race series with the 20 more hp and like 40 tq for my 15 so I went with the 2019 set instead. Having a 2019 truck kicking around I measured it all out and it was identical minus the rear flange and sensor extensions. Their shorties look really nice too.

Have the ARH ceramic coated stainless long tubes and love them. PO had the BBK shorties on the truck first, and they rusted out in short order.

I wish I could do longtubes. Damn MA inspections call for CARB certified cats.

Whatever ones you end up getting make sure they’re ceramic coated and/or 304 stainless...

JBA's are ******* junk as well, 3 years and they look like this. Im sure glad I paid extra for the ceramic coating...

Did they leak at all or just look like crap. I don't mind the look as long as they stay together and don't start cracking at the welds

IMHO---ARH are the best long tube headers hands down. I realize they are also the most expensive however I think they are the best quality and have the best fitment of any others. I know there are others that "work" but I believe that at least in this case--you get what you pay for. I'd hate to buy a new set of headers only to find that I would have to beat on one or two of the header tubes to make them fit correctly or that one or more of the welds are **** and have to be redone or worst yet, take the headers off and return them. I've never heard of that with the ARH. Just my .02----pay now or pay later

My JBA's have been on for 4 years and don't look like Dilligafs, plus mine are even wrapped,no leaks or cracks on my nitrous fed toy,and nitrous is hard on headers as it creates a ton of exhaust heat in the primaries. If you're on a budget there's nothing wrong with JBA's,but i'd wrap them, instead of ceramic coating.Wrap keeps more heat in the primaries to help keep exhaust velocity up,and it'll also keep your knock sensors happier,as they're right in that vicinity.

Installed ARH longtubes w/o cats on my 2017 a few months ago and holly crap did it wake my hemi up! The install went great. No figment issues what so ever and the performance gains are outstanding. The only thing I had to do was bend my dipstick tube slightly so it wouldn’t touch one of the runners.

I have a 2017, If I put long tubes on, what would be possible as far leaving as much stock exhaust on as possible.
Than probably sounds like a dumb question but I'm wondering what would have to be changed when putting long tubes on.
Thanks

Basically just headers and y pipe. From there it will bolt up to your stock exhaust. Or atleast most kits will.

^^^^ I agree with this. Remember if you put long tube headers on, no matter what muffler you have, your exhaust system is going to be louder. If you have a loud muffler on now---headers are just going to make it louder.
