Ok, I have two questions about the headers.

1. From past experiences on cars, longtubes are a PITA most of the time...on these new trucks, do you have to jack the motor up to put them on or can you just slip them in from under?

2. Does the longtubes void warranty IF I still have Cats ON?

Thanks.

it cant void the warranty unless the dealer has proof that the headers was the part that caused the problem...its called the "magnuson moss act"

The mag-moss warranty act was put in place for things like oil filters and air filters, not high performance parts. If you want to fight the dealer on warranty, I hope you have a good lawyer.
The fact is...they're gonna kill your warranty for long tubes uses you have a buddy deal at a dealership.

How does long tubes void the warranty? Please show me and explain that a set of long tube headers will void your warranty..... They don't. I've had a set of long tubes on every dodge I've every owned and have not had 1 problem from the dealerships. People are under the misconception that doing something minor like exhaust will void it to. That's just plain stupid. I went round and round with Dodge Chrystler corporate in San Antoino over my rear end in my SRT 10 it also had a fully built Motor that made 876 RWHP. The dodge house ended up replacing the entire axle shaft free of charge. The Dealer has to prove a mod is what caused the failure.

People need to understand they cant just void your warranty... They have to prove whatever part you put on caused the problem... So.. Say you put longtubes on your truck and the brake caliper goes bad. they cant deny you warranty on the brake caliper. If you do longtubes you would only lose the warranty on your exhaust.

That's completely incorrect where the motor is concerned.
For the brakes, yes....but I assumed by warranty he meant motor warranty with the longtubes.

If you have a motor or trans problem...ALL the dealer has to do is claim it's caused by the headers making more power and pushing the failed part outside of it's intended design parameters. That's it...that's all the proof they need.
Drop a rod? It was caused by excess power from the headers. Burn a valve...it ran lean because of the higher flowing headers. Break the trans...must have been the extra power from those headers. I can do this all day because I've SEEN it with my own 2 eyes.
If you disagree you can lawyer up on your own dime and get ready to fight their million dollar lawyers in court.

There's lots of young guys on these forums that think the law is cut and dried due to Mag-Moss. It's not...not even close. I've seen countless people try the Mag-Moss reasoning with a dealer over various items then the scenario played out just like I wrote.

If a dealer wants to void your warranty for longtubes...he will. Unless you're a very, very wealthy individual....they can outspend you in court.

On the flip side....some dealers are super easy to work with and won't care. Those are the dealers you need to get friendly with it you wanna mod your truck and maintain your warranty. Either that or use the few MOPAR branded, dealer installed mods that are out there.

Either way...don't use the damned Mag-Moss act as a crutch.

It is up to the dealership. Some are willing to work with you, and others aren't. I also have some friends that had motors and transmissions replaced on trucks that still had nitrous or a blower installed on the truck...then I have seen guys have to pay out of pocket because the dealer didn't like their cold air intake. Just be honest with the guys about what you have done up front, or go talk to them before buying the mods.
