Surprisingly enough, my brother picked up a 2005 Ram 1500 ST as a spare vehicle. Now he wants to sell it because he's going to be using my parents Toyota for the run around rig.

4.7L regular cab, 8ft bed. I just looked at some pics of it and it looks to be in really good shape, 86k miles on it. Has a dent on the top of the tailgate because a log got dropped on it and has a small rip in the driver's seat.

I think he wants $5k for it. Good deal? It's on the low side on KBB even for that model and style of truck. Figured I'd get it for my oldest to keep him from running miles up on my wife's or my vehicles.

Sooo, is that the friends and family price? :happy175:

If it's in good shape, that's a pretty good price, especially for your kid to run around in.

I dunno, he might go lower....it's pretty good shape for a truck up this way.

From what my brother said, it's all working. Has the 4.7L, which if you don't beat on it, will last awhile.

Thats a nice price. We got my ‘06 ST with 106k for about 5.5k a few years back. I have the V6 though and the body was vandalized bad with spray paint, among other issues.

Sounds like a heck of a deal especially now that used trucks are stupid expensive

Plus. That St. Bernard needs a place to ride with the young man. He will appreciate the lower jump in height and his own window...lol. Or the whole 8 foot bed to stretch out in...if you are ok with dogs riding in the bed.

Love regular cab trucks. They just look...like a truck. The 4.7 is a good motor and overall the drivetrain is bullet proof

Not alot to concern yourself with and 3rd Gen parts are still easy to find and are not too bad for price.

Hope it works out for you guys. Good truck for some good memories and solidify another RAM man

I'm hoping it will work out. His plans are to go to a local community college and the boss lady and I work nights, so us giving him a ride is really not an option. Plus he needs to get his license already, he has the permit.

Ok, just drove the ST today. It is a nice truck. You can still see the paint on the frame, and for up here that is unbelievable. The family price is $4500. It has some decent tires on it, more of a road tire than an AT. But it still handled really well in the weather up here. It has a cap on it now, but it is not for a Ram. Might get an 8ft tonneau cover for it. Replace the tailgate because of the top got mashed. Maybe some new tails and headlights to spruce it up.

Going to talk with the boss lady about it and get it figured out.

Looking t everything over on it again, a few more dings in it that I didn't notice, and a couple of rust spots, but not terrible. Can get those fixed quite easily. It needs some new tail lights (cracked & chipped) and a set of projectors would be nice for it. The chrome around the grill has bubbled and flaked on it, but an aftermarket grill would look good on it.

Needs a bit of TLC. Going to have it my possession for now, my brother wants to get the plates off of it to re-register my Father's truck and get that back on the road.
