Hey everyone I'm pretty new to this forum, I've been creeping off and on. So I'm running Ram 1500 with the 5.7 and I love it so as it being my first Mopar.

I'm looking for suggestions for mods, I've done some decent bolt-on's already.

Moe's Performance PTB
Mishimoto oil catch can
Magnaflow muffler with turnout before rear tire
Diablo Trinity Tuner with Hemifever

Do you have a high flo catalytic converter? It really lets the air flow smoothly with less back pressure.

No I'm thinking on headers, but would like some feedback on what I should look at. I live in phoenix Az and I don't want to have issues passing emissions. Also want to do something with the trans, I have the 6 speed. Its starting to sequel the bands from 2nd to 3rd.

What gears do you have in the truck? If you have 3.55's, the next mod IMO would be a set of 4.10's. Pair that up with a 3000 stall tq converter, and you will be in business. Longtubes are a great mod, but you can do both the gears and converter for the same price as the headers.

The only thing that will help the longevity of the transmission is how you drive the truck. I know guys with stock motors that have blown transmissions, and others guys that are making 500+ and still keeping their transmissions in tact. Don't do any WOT downshifts, and try to keep out of WOT in 4th gear. If you can do those 2 things, you wont have anything to worry about.

Both of my trucks are 2011's with the 5 speed. Both the 5 and 6 speed trucks use the exact same converter. What you will gain from this has a lot to do with the rest of your setup and how you use the truck. Every converter is custom built for each application, so it can be built for towing, street driving, or racing.

No matter how we set it up, you will get a much more aggressive launch, and your recovery rpm after each shift will be higher...this keeps you in the meat of the powerband which makes the truck run stronger throughout.
