My apologies up front... my first forum post ever. However, I am frustrated after $$$ of good upgrades, which I can feel a little more power, but still seeing slight black smoke constantly at idle. I bought the truck in April, 2021. Always had black smoke and exhaust tail pipe is extremely coated with black residue. This is my 4th 5.9 3rd gen owner and work on my trucks part-time.
I installed:
-Banks intercooler
-Banks High Ram intake
-Programed flash-tuner w/Banks AUTOMIND for economical ignition
-AirDog II Fuel pump
-new gauges
Mistery to me:
Why still idling with slight black smoke?
Why at 2k rpm after gun the engine the throttle sometimes seem to stick and slowly winds down?
Why is there still a whistling which matches the rpm/turbo?
Why does the boost gauge remain at 0 until I raise the rpm to 2k or actually increasing throttle running down the road, then it jumps up to 10,20,25?
