I just had to replace my engine, then replaced all 4 O2 sensors and the oil pressure switch. My 02 ram 1500 4x4 quad cab is getting 252 miles to the tank. Same as I was getting before I replaced the engine. I remember getting much closer to 380-400 per tank (as shown on the dte gauge). Is it now just a matter of time until everything starts going up? Or could there still be something causing it? No check engine lights, no stored codes.. Runs great..

Do you have the 32 gallon tank? i get less than 250 miles to the tank every tank with my 21 gallon? if you were getting 300 miles how? my average mpg for owning my truck is 8.8 mpg 15000 miles and 1700 gallons gas.

I just remember when I first got the truck I took a trip around the country and the dte read 380 every time I filled up.. Over the past few years it has dropped.. Maybe it is just a false memory..

Ok.. Maybe I am just misremembering it. I have the 22 gallon tank.. I was getting 8-10 mpg before I did all the work, today I notices on flat ground (like before) I was getting 16-18. So maybe it will show better after it averages for a while. Not sure how the truck computes all if this.

I have the 02 5.9l and have stopped checking my mpg once gas hit 4 bucks a gallon. Its way to depressing as these things are blue ribbon prize winning gas hogs .....and before ya go spend the money. No a cai doesnt help a bit .
