Came with no owners manual, so can anyone tell me how many miles/km I have left when the low fuel light comes on?
My last truck said I had approx. 20 miles/30 km until completely empty when the light came on.
I hate to let it get that low, but sometimes it happens and it's good to know how far you can go to find a gas station.

It should show you in your fuel economy setting. 512 is right i think my 1500 is 30 and my 2500 is 60. When it comes on fill up and see how much gas you really have. Some are off a couple gals.

You got that right, lol. At 80 miles to empty my 14 still has 11 gallons of gas in the tank, which on a bad day is still right around 200 or more miles till it's actually empty.

As I recall with my 14' when it comes up as 'empty' you have 20 miles or so. But not a lot of 'so'

2015 1500 Hemi lights comes on around 60 miles.

When I fill it near that point, reality is I typically have five gallons left in the tank.

My 2016 Express CC 5.7L 4x4 low fuel light also comes on with about four to five gallons left of the 26 gallon tank. Distance / miles till completely empty varies with use, trailer towing or a full bed.
The 2001 Dakota 4x4 with the 4.7L V8 I previously owned the low fuel light would come on stating that I only had 30 miles till empty. It was crazy as I would run it till it showed zero miles and still go another 50 miles till the fuel gauge needle was completely in the red.

Maybe download your owner's manual here...

Once the low fuel icon is on without DTE, you have ~2 gallons as I’ve drove the truck right to shut off empty.

24 were put back in as a safety for the fuel pump.

If Possible, NEVA run the fuel that low unless U gotta drain and drop tank. Yer fuel pump is cooled by the fuel in the tank, and the return. If U run too low too often, U take the chance of helping along fuel pump failure. A lot of ED owners and Diesel owners sometimes do this also because of the fuel range, and such and the mentality. Too many PPL have trashed systems. Just a saying as yer ride, and do what works for U. All IMHO...........

Question...Why would you even let it get that low? That just creates a better chance of sucking something bad off the bottom of the tank

My 2019 1500 classic big horn the low fuel light comes on when the miles remaining hits 50. Every time so far it comes on when that hits 50 miles remaining. I don’t know how any gallons are still in there at that point but I figure it’s between 3 and 4.

Doesn't the EVIC have a "Miles to Go" counter? My 14 2500 Tradesman's low fuel light came on (I don't recall where the counter was) and I drove it until it said it had 8 miles left in the tank and after filling it, I calculated about 1.5 gallons were still in the tank at that point.

I try to never go below 1/4 of a tank on any vehicle so I just go by the fuel gauge and then fill it up. Seems to me that most vehicles tend to have about 3-4 gallons remaining when the light comes on. When my wife & I were dating in college, she had a mental level of V for vapor before she bought gas. :)

On my 13 3.6,it varied. I keep the display set on economy and it tells you how many miles are left calculated from your mileage on the first part of the tank. If you slow down and drive easy you can double it. After driving in traffic for a week, I can hit the open road and watch the remaining range increase.

You offer good advice, but I have say I have run my vehicles down to fumes more times than I can count, even to running out of gas several times, and I never once had to replace a fuel pump. I have been driving since 1979, BTW. Is it a bit of a risk for the fuel pump? Yes. Is it a very, very small risk? Yes.

Seen my 17 mega cab gas show less than 15 miles to go. But only took 25 gals to fill and I know it has a 31 gal tank. With no more mpg than it gets it was probably right. LoL
