My 2014 130000 miles 5.7 hemi 8 sp. Trans. Bought it with 10,000 miles Ram has had this problem for a year now, When cold vibrates whole vehicle and rpm fluctuation when cold, worst at 1500 RPMs, goes up about 300 RPMS then down in a perfect pattern, sends a vibration through the whole truck. When hot symptoms go away, except in ECO mode below 2000 RPM, RPMs go up down up down constantly, So I never use ECO mode cause it is annoying .

Been to 2 dealers, transmission shop, "Expert mechanic". Transmission shop said not transmission, electrical problem. 1st dealer reflashed ECU said "replace transmission." $3639 cause out of warranty (no I didn't do that).

Took to "expert mechanic" he said injectors dirty, had injectors cleaned, no change.

Took to second dealer 3 times. Said not transmission, reflashed ECU still no change. Dealer Tech supposedly worked with factory engineer said could not figure it out until 3rd time back at dealer. They finally said we found it! Its the accelerator pedal assembly and $570 should do it (no I didnt buy it from them). Found exact new OEM pedal on Rock Auto for about $150 and installed it. No change. Now they say they have to re- program the New Pedal assembly. So I have another appointment now with this dealer $$$.

Unrelated when back under warranty they had the whole dash out to find a air leak after 3 times last time truck in shop for 2 weeks. Also had to have broken exhaust manifold bolts replaced they said this is a common problem with the 5.7 Hemi. And now at idle the plastic shutters in front of the radiator rattle another annoyance and you can here When Cold that something is slow to open.

This is my first Ram. It has not be neglected or overworked at all. Just driven a lot for work. And I know that this could happen with any make. But I have never had this many issues with any other brand truck I have owned.
So needless to say it's probably my last RAM I'll let you know if this next appointment will fix the problem.

You hear something slow to open? Like in the dash on in the engine bay?
Next time you do a cold start, have someone else start it and put your hand on the throttle body, see if the noise is coming from there.

Noise could be alot of things but figured shot in the dark

Holy S$@T !!! Its like youve taken the words out of my mouth. Accept 2 dealerships and two transmission shops. I have done plugs. Scanned atleast 6 times. Checked fluids. All driveline components. Even disabled mds with a tuner because i thought it could be mds realated. Pulling my hair out with this. 150km. Very well kept. Please help if anyone can give me an answer. Or even point me in the right direction!!!

so my 2014 sport 5.7 just started doing this this weekend after changing the oil. went from max life to mobile 1 syn. the change in oil is probably just a fluke. it acts up for about 20 minutes then calms down and runs normal. does not do it at idle in park or in drive stopped. fuel eco seems to have dropped a bit, about 1mpg. also a slight shudder around 1500rpms now.

Mine does the same thing. Only when I am stopped at a red light. RMPS dip to 475/450, truck shutters and vibrates. On rare occasion, the rpm's stay at 700/750 and runs great. I've checked

Throttle body gaskets
intake
spark plugs
injectors
Exhaust
All Vacuum lines
coil packs

- I am going to bet if I replace the throttle body assembly the problem will be resolved. The enclosed electronics seems to make the most sense at this point.

What mods do you have? How many miles on the engine? What are the symptoms?

Try a new MAP sensor. It's essentially the equivalent to a MAF in our trucks and It's under $30 so it won't hurt to rule it out.

Zero modifications to this truck. Rpm surges at any speed by 100-300, a low tone vibration occurs at random intervals. This entire issue is sporadic. Does not idle incorrectly while stopped. Turning MDS off while driving does not change the issue
