Need some help guys, I have a 2014 Ram SC and I’m looking at getting a 2/4 lowering kit. Need advice on the best kit to use? I know a lot use belltech and I’ve heard a lot on IHC. I don’t want any death wobble and I’m wanting a stock ride as possible. Any info or advice I’d greatly appreciate. If it belltech which one? I know I need the relocation brackets so I fear once I buy everything that I’ll need from belltech I may be better off to buy the IHC when looking at cost

I would get the 964, not the 964ND. You may want something other than the BT shocks. Lots of feedback on the BT shocks that is not positive.

The IHC brackets you need to order from IHC, or you could get everything from MOEs a sponsor here on the forums.

Does the 964 come with any relocation brackets like IHC? And I’ve heard the street performance shocks are pretty good

I actually want the 3/5 IHC kit but can’t find any shop in my area to install it, I can’t physically do it cause I’ve had surgery

If you are in Tennessee, doubtful you will find someone. I ended up doing my 4 / 6 myself over two weekends. Front on one back on the other.

The street performers are no better than stock. Gets some qa1s or vikings.

The belltec kit does not come with relocation brackets to re center the rear axle.

I didn’t think they did but the IHC 3/5 kit does. Lol I’ve only found 1 place that will install the IHC so far and they’re wanting 1500 for the install and alignment

You realize the 3/5, 4/6 and 5/7 kits are virtually identical with the exception of the 1 inch spring isolator for the front In the 3/5 kit and how much you adjust the upper control arms.

With the ihc kit, you reuse your stock front Springs. Which is what gives you the softer ride

Yes I do now, I talked to Matt at Moes today. Think I’m getting the 4/6, do you run the 285 45 22 on your truck? Does that size tire rub with the 4/6? I’m running the 285 45 22 currently

It will in the front on big dips and especially for dips st speed.

Im 285 45 22 (32 inches) in the rear and 285 40 22( 31 inches) in the front

But I'm 4/6.

If you go 3/5 or 2/4 your 285 45 22 will be OK

So is it the same size spring with different size / thickness spring isolators?

The ihc kit for 3/5 uses the 1 inch spring isolator on top of your factory springs in front and you cut the supplied rear spring 1 inch, essentially 1 coil more or less. The 4/6 doesn't use the spring isolator in the front you just use your stock upper and lower factory spring cups and cut 11/2 to 2 coils off the springs for the back.
Typically 2 coils on passenger side, 11/2 on drivers to compensate for fuel tank. On 5/7 you take of the rubber spring pad off your front factory springs from the bottom, you need the top and cut 2 1/2 or 3 coils on back.

It's a fairly well designed kit with multiple options. Depending on your personal tastes.

Every option uses your factory front springs and the supplied rear coils.

What about the McGaughys 2/4 drop spindle kit. I am happy with mine. Even better after replacing the stock shocks with Bilsteins.

How about a picture?
I’ve had just about every style lowering kit available- except the spindle drop
Just waiting for it to arrive, and hopefully install it before Christmas takes over
Did you notice any big differences with the added weight of the lowering spindle vs stock?
Any input would be great
Thanks

Your truck always looks good
I don’t believe that other than the extra weight of the aftermarket drop spindle that you’ve posted any other specifics as to ride character?

Rides and wheel aligns like it's stock, lol. That's the beauty of the spindles,no triming tie rods or messing around with camber bolts/arms to get it back into factory alignment specs. The only real downsides are they are heavier then the cast aluminium spindles, and push the wheels out roughly 3/8" .I beat the 3/8" offset by having the spindles narrowed, but honestly on a 4X4 they don't really stick out enough to notice,as the 4X4's have a slightly narrower wheel track then the 2X4's have on the front. I had the spindles narrowed roughly 0.600 but in hindsight if i was doing it again,i'd only go maybe at most a 1/2" / 0.500,as it took some cutting/tweaking to make the backing plates fit with-out rubbing the rotor
