Hurry up and get these ***** mounted!

Sent from my P00I using Tapatalk

Still waiting on UPS to deliver them. They claim Wednesday, but they've lied to me before. Did get the tire's ordered up so they'll be ready to get mounted up once the wheels arrive. Ended up changing to Toyo's since the Open Country M/T's were actually a good bit cheaper than the STT Pros. They are the Raptor Spec C load range 315/70R17's, but IMO with a half ton they'll probably ride even better.

I sure hope so. 20"s with load range E's have a way of beating you up a little on all the gravel around here. I've already spent enough on suspension this year so if I can be pleased enough to put off shock upgrades till next year I'll be rather happy.

yeah, on the other hand some of us haven't been able to try out 10 different suspension systems on our trucks!;):banana-mario::badger_1:

Touche!!!! And I'll still have 2 sets of wheels! Just stock status! 315s will be for play time 100%, if and when that happens. I'd rather not have this little motor try and push that much weight down the highway year round. Tho methods and toyos are a lust of mine. We can all live vicariously through each other.

So much jealous right now

Sent from my P00I using Tapatalk

If I hadn't beat my stock 20s to **** I probably still wouldn't have pulled the trigger on them no matter how badly I wanted them. Now I'm going to need to pick up flares once I measure the stick out to try and keep this thing cleaner. I think I'm going to spend the extra cash on the more aggressive Mopar flares that should line up with the bumper fairly well.

https://www.allmoparparts.com/sku/82214281ac.html

Still need to find some flaps and I'm thinking maybe the AEV ones, but eh I'm still not sure on that. I'm also hoping the softer tires make me happy enough that I don't end up buying the 2.0 rear Icon shocks until next year when I can just buy Front Coilovers and rear 2.5s. Still don't know if I'm going to do Icon's w/their heavier spring or just suck it up and get some custom built King's.

@hodge-xj if it helps with your jealousy they included the wrong thread pitch on the lugs =/. Sent me M12x1.25 lugs lol. I got replacement lugs coming after getting off the phone and they actually shipped standard Gorilla XL lugs so my suspicions about the ET only being needed for the Toyota guys was correct. Gonna order a set of Gorilla locking lugs off summit and well see which lugs show up 1st (Hopefully one of them gets here by Saturday).

The wheels do look great tho. Can't wait to get the rubber on them and them on the truck.

Yea I don't really do shiny wheels or noisy wheels. I very much like more subdued wheels. Pretty much copied the same formula as the Challenger, but off road performance instead of on road performance. Most of the year it's running that staggered setup and then when it gets below 50 or so the stock wheels with some Nitto all seasons go on. For once got a picture of it clean when I stopped by parents this last weekend. Usually it's all dusty from the driveway/county road I live on. Now I just need to find a set of keyed lugs that fits the Methods as perfectly as that Gorilla set on the Challenger. Since they're the same threading as the Ram I might steal one for testing purposes to see if they they fit and have the required depth/clearance.

Yea that was my early mid life crisis purchase right there. I bought it almost 4 months to the day after I learned how to walk again and about 2 months after the neck brace came off. Literally put the deal together as I was leaving the surgeons office right after being cleared to drive fun things again lol.

So the lug's off that guy were way toooo big a diameter since I'm running the oversized 60 degree acorns, but the key fits perfectly in the holes without touching the sides so small diameter locks don't look to be a hard requirement on the MR701's. Ordered the 76643N locking set with the normal sized acorns (Should be the same size as the aforementioned Gorilla extra length lugs) based on that quick test fit. They should be delivered to me by Friday so the truck should have it's new shoes by the weekend. Hopefully the longer lugs don't look stupid, but I didn't have the time to really mount up one of the wheels and test how much stud was sticking out. If they look retarded I'll play with it more at the 1st tire rotation.

What a bummer! At least we can all stare at them and drool on our phones. I really like how those wheels look like the old school steelies, but with a modern twist. Hopefully our tires come in today.....mine are utterly terrifying in rain, and they are still new. Idk how people drive in the winter on all season tires.

Edit. I never replied to the above post, but honestly I'd start off those toyos at like 38psi max. Those bishes are stiff, run em as low as you can and it'll be cushy, they are tough as ****.

my new lug nuts are the long ones, but black on black i didn't even notice their length on my new wheels.

Well one step closer. Sadly the CO-OP didn't have the **** to mount/balance without any damage to my Methods, but getting the tires on our Ag Account at-least saved me a ton of money on rubber. Should have hub rings tomorrow (Hopefully.. it is USPS after all) and the Gorilla keyed lugs I ordered which UPS promises will be here tomorrow as well. Hopefully I can work a deal with one of the local guys to mount/balance them for some cash this weekend and then get them on the truck.

One thing is for sure these babies are way more aggressive than the KO2's and should be a lot better out here when it rains.

I'd start off those toyos at like 38psi max

Yea I was gonna start at the max of 35 psi actually and then see if they need to come down from there. I'm also gonna need to get my pin so I can reset the TPMS in Alpha, but I'll tackle that later on. They're only 6 ply like the stock Raptor 35"s, but the load rating is perfect for a half ton which is why I sprung for them. Also why they were so much cheaper than the Coopers. Even being a load range C the tire itself just feels and looks beefier than my KO2's were when I got them so I'm not too concerned. They also weight the same as the load range E so no lack of material in the tire itself.

LT315/70R17
113/110Q C BSW 34.6" 12.7" 8-11" 9.5" 20.2/32" C - 6 ply 2535/2335 lbs 35 psi 99 mph 76 lbs Black 600

my new lug nuts are the long ones, but black on black i didn't even notice their length on my new wheels.

I ended up getting the chrome ones. I've had bad luck with the finish on black lugs before, but not with the Gorilla chrome. Since I'm not going to do any additional chrome deleting it should look alright with the chrome door handles and badges.

Little bit of eye candy and some unmounted side by side comparison while I anxiously await them being on the damn truck.

yeah those toyos are brutes. i had the open country AT's on my tacoma for a long time. they did well by me. btw, i took a look at my new lugs. glad i got the long ones. there's not a lot of socket sticking out on my rims even with those. you wouldn't know they are almost twice as long as my gorilla chromes were to glance at them. i had black gorillas on my tacoma black steel rims. they lasted a long time. i don't have a clue which ones the dealer sold me, but the price was right. 60 bucks for a set of 24 so i have 4 spare and because they were returns, i got them for 30 bucks for the set. i'll buy gorillas if these go rusty. but at least now i know that the long spline type are a good match for these wheels.

If they hadn't been 238 a tire and my stockers weren't so beat up they couldn't be balanced... wouldn't have happened yet. Also helps I went back to the W-2 world for quite a bit more money than when I left and had never paid myself out of my LLC so all my own backpay on top of regular paychecks was nice. Moved most of it into the brokerage and then the rest went to this expense. I figured since I needed new wheels anyways might as well cry once and get what I want. Next month flares and flaps so I can spread out the spending a little lol. Then I swear I'm done buying truck **** this year... who am I kidding I'll see some sort of ******** I just have to have and it'll happen.
