Did you need a reservation for Rocky Mnt National Park? There has been a lot of controversies lately since the new Superintendent of the park started a reservation system. People have been complaining they can't get access to the park or to Trail Ridge road.

Beautiful! We were out that way last year and loved it. My 23' ultralight with a slide weighs about the same as yours by the way. Maybe a few hundred less. Had no issues towing around Colorado.

The latest I have heard about RMNP is if you get there prior to 9 AM no reservation is needed. So many tourists cant get out of bed before then so the gates are open. Later traffic creates a mass of humans with no where to park at the sites.

If you go to the park website, they go over the reservation system. It is different hours for different places. Need one for every activity in the designated hours and places - except if riding a bike, they don't. Walk in still need it.

Glad you enjoyed it. It's nice to see folks doing things like this.

We used to do EP about 5 times a year (from Cheyenne). We had a routine down, got to bear Lake, walk around it then to the Alpine center taking Old Falls road (one way dirt road). Then over to the Grandby entrance and back around to the Alpine Center. Then down to Moraine park to watch the Elk. And then into to for Pizza and head back to Cheyenne.

Now you have a choice of 2 reservations, Bear lake corridor OR the rest of the park. You have to get your res. a month ahead with some next day avail the day prior at 5pm.

No more spur of the moment "hey let's go to RMNP"

" There will be no permits sold on site at the park."

Correct. Before 9:00 or after 3:00. For Bear Lake, I think it was before 5:00am or after 6:00pm. No chance getting a reservation the week of… we just had to go before or after. Still got to see all the sights.
