Y pipe installed this past tuesday, Jan. 3rd
Thank-you, quietpeen.
I decided to go to a muffler shop near where I live in Edmonton, AB. I explained to him about how I wanted a magnaflow y pipe part # 10778, and he said he had done one recently on a 4th gen ram 1500 hemi. I explained to him that the magnaflow system I got installed at another shop was too loud for me. I had read that the magnaflow y pipe would flow much better then the factory setup and would cut down the exhaust noise. It took one of his guys less than an hour to build some pipes for behind the cats, than flowed them into the y pipe, then attach it to the catback system. And as advertised, a little more power was had, plus the whole exhaust system is much quiter.
Now I am a happy camper!
I should have went to see him in the first place, I have known him for close to 30 years.
So, if anyone of you readers live in the Edmonton, Alberta area, go see Ed at Park Muffler in Sherwood Park, which is just east of Edmonton. By the way, he is the boss and owner. This guy knows his stuff, and has built many exhaust systems for me over the years.
By the way, before the y pipe was installed, a fellow in a Ford 150 Ecoboost twin turbo thought he was going to kick my ass in a little street race. Well, he didn't. He jumped by about a foot before I realized he wanted to race, and I put the pedal to the metal, and that's all he had on me, a foot, before I shut it down, close to 60 mph. I have seen a race on youtube where an ecoboost F150 beats a 4th gen hemi quite badly. All I have done to my 2011 ram hemi is the magnaflow y pipe and catback system, and an airraid drop in filter.
I plan to get the vararam ram system next. I wish the hell a programmer was finally developed for these 11 and 12 hemis. I used a superchips programmer for my 2004 and 2008 ram 1500 hemis, and these trucks woke up!
Anyway, I am outta here, chat with you fellow ram owners later.
