My welder is with the granddaughter in Saskatoon now, but have welded a few cast manifolds over the years, last headers where on a 69 340 duster. never played with the shorties.
But if one plained these manifolds flat, what are the chances of them popping more bolts later?
My bolts are fine, at least I have no noise. at 80 KMs
Not sure where you are,but if you're around the Kindersley area Dave at Hill machining in Kindersley can probably mill your manifolds flat.

In Swift Current now, was north of the river in the past.
My truck is still fine, and I am passed doing it myself now.
I have done manifolds in the past, IHC truck motors where hard on manifolds, I use to have a long belt sander that was true / flat, before I moved to town 6x60" cica1930-40's
I had the top machined flat one time , used it mainly for wood, but with the proper belt , it worked fine on iron, steel.
There are a couple real good shops in town here, have had heads done. been a while 25 yr? or so.
