Manifold plaining vs headers

Have a 2012 1500 5.7 with broken manifold bolts. I have a quote of 1200$ to plain manifold and replace all bolts with upgraded ones. Would going with headers be more or at least even cost effective and would I need to have a tune? I have a flashpaq with canned stuff already. It’s a daily driving for my son now just trying to get the most bang for the buck.

Seems a bit high to me but I haven't had it done.

You could do headers, can't tell you if it would be cheaper or not.
Tune doesn't hurt but not needed with shorty header.

Get a second quote elsewhere, and tell them thanks but no thanks. Any muffler shop should be able to plain them for much cheaper and even install. Most likely that shop does not know how or cannot do it and would just source it elsewhere hence the large price.
