How many on this forum have the manual tranny in their rigs? The whole reason I even bought mine was BECAUSE it (2008) was the final year for half ton stick shift. I have met fellow Dodge truck enthusiasts locally who did not even realize the 08 came with a stick!

Anyway, 197000+ miles on mine and it still drives and rides like a dream.

Whenever I look on auto trader just for fun for 2006-2008 4 door, 4wd Rams I usually only find around 30 for sale in the entire country. And of those, only a few are a Big Horn models. Would be interesting to see what production #'s were.

I have the getrag g238 6 speed in my 05 1500. 120,000 trouble free miles. Not too many 05's around with a 6 speed so i guess its a rare setup. Its a blast to drive around

Had the 6 speed when I originally bought my truck with the 4.7l in it. Have the viper 6 seed in it now. Love the stick.

I have an 03 with 4.7 and 5 spd (I think it is the NV3550). I looked everywhere and found 1 stick full sized truck within the 6 states around me. I bought it...

WOW I bet your truck is a screamer!

Let me put it this way. I do not like driving in the rain or on slick roads. Plus if I try to really take off at a light hard the tail of my truck wags around like a very happy puppy. I have to be real careful when taking off to say the least.

I just recently bought an '06 with the 6 speed manual and I love it. It took 6 months to find and a 4 hour round trip, but it was worth the wait. It's a regular cab short box, shift-on-the-fly 4x4, cruise control and only 38k miles.

just got mine two months ago. 04 ram 1500 quad cab 5 speed. agreed on the rain thing. or any hill for that fact. got the ten inch wide tires on it too. but i enjoy sliding. i was actually going to buy a 07 ram 1500 and when i went in to sign for it, someone had sold it already, so i went back out on the lot and saw my truck sitting in the lot where trade in cars are sat until cleaned up and put out on the lot. it still had dog hairs and crap in it but i signed and bought it that day. every time i get in it it makes me smile

Stick shift trucks are rare in general. Especially since a lot of trucks were sold to women with families. A lot of women cannot drive a stick shift, or do not take the time to learn how to drive a stick. That is why my daughter was taught to drive using my truck. She had to learn control real fast. Not easy to teach a hard headed teen how to drive until they see what real power is.:grd:

There are a few of mine in the forums. None are too good though. Single cab 1500 Brilliant Crystal Black 2wd, SHORT wheelbase. Should be a couple in my headlight build post.

You swapped a viper motor into that truck?

It was warranteed when the original 4.7l decided to kick the bucket at less than 5000 miles. For some reason dodge did not have any new 4.7l motors at the time but they had a lot of the Viper pull-out motors with trannies available. It was either a Hemi with an automatic (yuck automatic) or the V10 with a stick. I only had to pay for a few items that Dodge would not warrantee.

I really wanted a manual, but very few out there. There was a quad cab manual in the middle of the state, offered by a Stealer, way more than blue book plus Stealer fee. So I bought mine with auto, everything else I wanted and low miles. I figure I can always convert it to stick.
I think the fact that my Jeep is manual, is making it harder for me to sell. So many now days have no clue how to drive a manual.

Same thing happened to me with my cobalt. Chevy didn't have the motor available so I had to choose between LS1 and LS7 so I went with LS7 :***:

I screwed up the miles that the original motor kicked the bucket at. It was a bit over 5000 miles. Ill get some pics when I get off work. I work offshore and my truck is sitting in the companies parking lot atm.

Wrong account for the photos. Did not notice that those were my friends trucks and not mine.
