Map light help

So I've been reading here about new LED installs, and decided I'd check out my map lights. I pulled one cover off and reinstalled cover and now it won't work. It doesn't even click when you push the light on, it just pushes up.
Anyone know what causes this or how to fix?

LED bulb or stock bulb?

LED bulb can be reversed or not in right or stock bulb isnt in right

The stock bulb is LED on mine. I never pulled it out, just looked at it and then re-installed the cover.

Sounds like you just didn't get it back in correctly?

I tried for like a half hour. The tab that sticks out is inserted back in the hole it was in before. It's almost like it's supposed to push on some kind of spring, but it's not connecting somehow.

you knocked out the little white button that turns the light on. Did you have the light clicked on then removed the cover and tried to put it back on like that? To fix it you will have to lower the upper console and plug it back in. Or take it to the dealer and have them do it. They didn't charge me because I said I clicked the light on and I heard a pop and didn't know what happened. . .

That must have been it. Seemed like such a simple process, yet it got jacked up. How do you lower the console?

There is an inner section that pops out. Search around on here I know someone has pics of what it looks like popped out.
