I recieved an email that my rams 12" U connect is available for the most recent map updates. I called and all they will tell me is that its $150.00 which I'm fine with if it's a substantial update. Ram will not give me any information on the differance from the 2020 version I have compared to the new advertised update.
So im asking you all who have actuelly done the upgrade, is it worth it and what are the changes. I guess i should also note that we're ful time rvers that haul big weight

Well, I ordered it for my 2019 because we pull a TT as well and hope for a better map experience than the original. FedEx had lost it so I am waiting to resolve that to get it and find out. I will update once installed and tested.

Please do not update your Nav maps before 3 years have past

Think about it, how often do they build a new highway
No new roads are built, unless a new building project is built

All the changes within a 3 year period, is the new businesses
In my town Starbucks has moved at least twice in 3 years, just about everything else has remained the same.

Dealerships use to have a bulletin in the waiting room
That bulletin advised just exactly what i just texted
Then one day they took that bulletin down, now they took the waiting room away, due to covid

..................................................................

I just did a google search

How often should I update my navigation system?

Roads get rerouted or changed for safety, streets get renamed, bridges get replaced, traffic patterns are modified. So, if you use the navigation system often, and drive a lot in unfamiliar places, then it's probably worth updating every four or five years. Dec 21, 2019

do you have Uconnect 5 ?
or did that begin in 2021 ?
Uconnect 5 i believe came out with TOM TOM navigation

Before that, all mapping had been Navigation.com, which became
HERE.com

which is also WeGo.HERE.com

We travel often, ful time rvers who chase the weather. I love using the big 12" screen for directions but the last several times it's way off and unreliable to the point that my wife is using her phone again, which don't help me out to see where to go

I have a 2019, uses here.com Software. Maps are from 2018, so depending on what year maps they use in upgrade it could be 3 years newer

sample of Uconnect 5

What's the difference between Uconnect 4 and Uconnect 5?

Uconnect 5 Plus can power up to four display screens, generating up to 15 million pixels—that's three times the resolution that was possible with Uconnect 4. So fonts now display with higher resolution and are easier to read. Expect to see some camera upgrades rolling out to support this newfound resolution. Jan 27, 2020
