First timer here and looking for trusted advice.

I am looking for confirmation that my 2013 1500 Longhorn Laramie (2WD) will accept 35" tires on stock 20" rims. I'm having a 2.5" leveling kit installed and wanting a beefier look. Also looking for suggestions on which tires will give me that look, yet still provide a nice ride as most of my driving is highway commuting.

I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Some guys say that you can run 35's on stocks without spacers but idk. I've got a Longhorn with stock 20's and 35's and I need spacers. Even with 1.5" spacers I rubbed on the OEM flare and my mud flaps. Height wise they'll fit and give you a stuffed look.

I'd recommend goodyear duratracs for 35's. They're a lighter 35, have a fantastic ride (I don't notice a difference from stock tires), they have a slight hum which I like and they look amazing. In the snow they're fantastic as well!

This writeup from Ramhunter9 under the 4th Gen "exterior" thread should hook you right up. http://www.ramforum.com/f41/wheel_tire_faq-266/

Welcome to RF

xrsman, your truck looks awesome!

That is a really good looking truck, the contrast of the snow really sets it off.

Thank you guys!

BTW OP, I have 1.5" spacers, they really set off the look. If you're going to do 35's on stock rims definitely get BORA adaptors, they're amazing! Also just take roughly 3-4" off for truck height and this is what your truck would look like! (I say 4" because 2wd sits lower than 4wd. I'm sitting on a 5" lift. 2" level with 3" body)

You could use a 295/60r20 which is 34.1 tall and 12.2 wide I think. Most you would need is a 1/4 spacer since they are a little narrower than a 12.5" tire. Also if you use a AT tire you may not need a spacer. Like the terra grappler instead of a trail grappler since the side biters make them a bit wider than a AT tire. Also I think Toyo make a AT2 in that size as well.

Br careful with the hockey puck spacers. I've heard tell of ball joint issues with the 2wd.

Awesome looking Truck Xrsman. I was concerned about the ride quality going with bigger tires. What about gas consumption. You notice much of a change in your gas consumption since going bigger. I am considering going bigger ...will have to do some more research though.
Cheers!!

Haha yes quite a difference in fuel economy! I lost 4-5 Mpg US since the lift and bigger tires. It's winter now so we're using crappy winter fuel and I got my tires less than a month ago. We'll see in the summer how much of a loss it is with good fuel.

No hub spacers....but I want some...the tire pressure had to be dropped a little so they would bolt up....
