Can I use MD-3 trans fluid in a 2002 Dodge 1500 with a 46re trans? Does it affect the solenoids? Or what?
I am having recurring solenoid probs. A transmission shop said I could use the MD-3 fluid? HELP!

ATF 4 is synthetic so it's a better option. MD-3 is dextron 3 mercon spec and isn't synthetic. The additive packages are not dissimilar and are compatible, but ha s a lower service life from lesser quality base oils. Look in 3rd gen section. .

\You would be better off sticking with ATF 4 great spec.
