PS, Looking at oil preferences

Im currently running Penzoil 5W-20

should I be looking at maybe switch to Royal Purple ? Or stay on my current path.

regular oil changes for me are in the 4-5000 mile range
For me, I watched " the motor oil geek" videos and settled on Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w-30. I have MDS delete so no codes or troubles. Two oil samples done, all good so far. I would not go that many miles myself, additives in the oil can degrade around that milage interval. Heck my factory cam and lifters went and I change oil at around 3500 miles/5500 kms!

Excellent, really helpful. Thank you.
Did you replace the pushrods?
I've got the stuff in my rock auto cart. Probably going to tear it apart before I order though.
I just made sure all my pushrods were clean internally and reused them.

But, same here. I didn't actually order anything until I had it apart to make sure all was ok

Also, I put a new oil pickup tube on it as well.
Didn't trust I could get it clean internally

Weird part is. My truck ran great . No issues or miss of any kind

Just this weird squeak / chirp type noise. I thought for sure was a flexplate.
So had it replaced . I was wrong

Odd part was , In the beginning the noise would actually come and go and towards the very end is where it got to the point it was all the time. But still No engine miss or rough running.

Yep. I think your experience told you that a problem was lurking.

Mine is have misfire code cylinder 5. No remedy with plugs, coil, and fuel injector changes.

One more thing, did you replace your head bolts?

Mine had one lobe going south. But several others were not going to be far behind.
And only one lifter roller bad on worst cam lobe .
All the others felt fine

I put magnetic drain plugs on my Charger and Ram, the charger was full of this metal paste! hot oil pressure on it , is 47 at idle and 53 running above 2,000 rpm's! Replaced with stock oil pump , and VVT , both had scratches! Ram idles at 51 and 54! My Charger had MDS, all automatics had that system, Manuals did not! Same horsepower as all the other 5.7's , except the police car was governed to 150 mph, while everything else is governed at 130
