I love my Eco, but I'm sick of California diesel prices. I'm gonna go look at a HEMI truck tomorrow. Looks just like my truck I have now, except new and not an Eco. If it doesn't work? I come home in a truck I already like :)

OK now, yer towing if U tow be entirely different, MX different, and MPG, U not gonna get near the lil 3.0 ED. But again, yer backside, so all depends. Now the 2019 Penstatar are all the new Etorque. The 2019 Hemi's can be found with and without. I have no E-Torque, works for me. Others have said E-Torque OK, HOTROD bought one a lil while ago, he may have to Chime in. I personally wanted nuthin to do with it, BUT then I also bought MY 19 in August 2018, and no E-torque than. Watever U choose or not choose, Good Luck.

U could always keep yer ED and move outta California, LOL.. Just a suggestion. :angels25:

Kapt, well said. Outrageous that diesel is $4.20 a gallon. On average, .10 to .20 per gallon higher than 91 Gas in our area. Clearly State BS. I have had Hemi's in my Rams since 2003. 4 of them. Just bought a 2018 Ram tradesman withe 3.6 Penstar and 8 speed trans. Got to tell you. I am impressed. 26 MPG rather than 13 my 03 5.7 was getting.
$10,000 for diesel upgrade and DEF BS etc just didn't make sense to me. Fitz

I got 15.9 out if my standard cab 04 HEMI 4x4 around here in the hills. No idea what it got on the highway. Both my Challengers were R/T's and got really good mileage on the highway. I had a second 04 HEMI truck, quad cab, lifted on 37's. It got 11 mpg. Up hill, down hill, in town, on the highway, loaded, empty, didn't matter. My Eco can get up to 25 on the highway, generally around 21. I blame that on the 2" leveling kit and the 33/12.50/20 tires

I just got a 2019 !500 with the hemi plus a 3.92 rear with a tow package. I have been really impressed with mileage. Getting 21/22 mpg combined. I reset the trip odometer at every refill....using 89 octane....my last trip said 278 miles with an average 22.8mpg. Most of that driving was on cruise control set at 67mph. Haven't towed yet.....only about 1000 miles on truck. Really impressed with mileage.

I was in Ca recently. You will not re-coup the $ on the swap.

Do the math.

Isn't Colorado really just California version 1.5?

You're thinking of Washington. Gov Jay Inslee just sits and studies the Republik of Kalifornia for "his" next big idea......

Doesn't make sense on a lot of different levels.
Not going to save money on fuel either.
Going to loose a LOT of money in depreciation though.
SMH.

I don't see how i'm not going to save money on fuel. Gas is cheaper and my Eco doesn't get very good mileage. However that really isn't the reason I want out of the Eco. Depreciation? Yeah, not much can be done about that other than buying used

Be sure to post a picture

Yeah you might of took a hit in depreciation but I’m sure you’ll be happier with the more reliable Hemi.

Neither does the gas engine, in fact it gets worse gas mileage than the diesel.
You may be spending slightly less per gallon but you'll not be getting as many miles per gallon either. Couple that with the depreciation hit (twice, assuming you bought the eco new) and it'll take you literally decades to recoup the difference.
I could give a **** if you just want a new truck I'm just pointing out that the idea that you're going to be saving money on gas is ludicrous.
