Hey all, this is my first post on here, so please forgive any mistakes. I have a 1977 Crew cab that I want to put a decent sound system in just to bring it up close to modern standards. However, other than replacing the poor quality factory speakers and adding sound deadening, I'm not sure what to do or where to put things. On my truck, I don't think that there is any room in the doors, but I was thinking maybe behind the rear seat and under the seats. If anyone has better ideas or any advice on what parts to use, it would be greatly appreciated

You can reach out to Crutchfield, they have specialists that can work with you to design a system that works for your truck, music taste, and budget. If nothing else, it can help you get an idea about what is possible. Also, there are reviews on there where you can get a sense of what others think.

Generally, the issues I have seen others run into is not matching speakers to the amplifier range or low quality wiring being used.

You could start with the addition of an amplifier, subwoofer, and maybe upgraded speakers that fit the door. Then see how it sounds. Not sure what head unit you have but my 8.4 UAS has been pretty decent with my upgrades.

Good luck.
