Hi all…

I’m looking for smoked lights for my mirrors (not-towing). Like most, I’d like to save a buck…but I also don’t want to buy something that won’t last.

I like the Morimoto well-enough but I struggle with the $100 price tag

This Amazon brand has them for half the price - AND an “improved” version for the same price

Have you installed something similar? Do you have a link? Thoughts?

Thanks for your time.

I installed a "cheaper" set from Amazon and they lasted about a year before the puddle lights would start blinking and then one of the turn signals started to just flash instead of progressively move.
Ordered the Morimotos ones two years ago and so far they still work correctly.

The actual mirror switching is only
6 plastic screws & little washers that hold the screws in place
1 large screw behind the Door Handle
3 Screws that attach the mirror to the door

Then there are 3 electrical plugs

I bought a set of Plastic Trim Tools, for things like prying up the Master Switch that is in the Door Grab Handle
( that Trim Tool Set can be used to remove the Sound Deadener attached to the Hood & other places like the Radiator Cover.
It is also used in a few places in the interior, besides the door panel, also called a door card, & to remove the Dash Board Center Stack, to access the Radio, HVAC Controls, etc.

i have 2 sets now, a set from Autozone & another set from Harbor Freight

I have the Morimoto ones and very happy with them, and I didn't that the $100.00 price tag was out of line for a brand name. The Amazon link showed their lights at $95.00, so to me the choice would be pretty easy in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing your feedback on Morimoto.

No doubt $95 knock off vs a $100 known brand? There is no choice…truth be told, I thought it was funny that the “improved knock off” is essentially the same price…im curious what’s improved- is there more turn signal fluid?
