I really don't get this desire to avoid a tune. Anything worth doing is going to require a tune. Anything else is just :manos:

I'll give my reason. I tried to add a PCM and tune about 3 yrs ago. I broke the (forget name) plastic piece that locked cable on to PCM. Once this happen, its a b* to find where the correct pins line up. I did manage to do it. So, I left it and never touched it again. So, personally i'd like to avoid messing with it. On top of that, another $1400 for PCM, programmer, and tune i'd like to wait. Just my personaly reasons.

Did you use the link I posted or?
How hard was it? I need to do it.

The shop that did my engine build did it so I have no idea. I can ask them then next time I talk to them though.

Called around. Looks like labor is $450 and new MMX cam is $620 for this setup @ 30hp. So, $1070. That's cheaper than a tune, programmer, and pcm swap ($1500). Thoughts?

Where are you getting that a tuner and a PCM swap is $1500? I just did this last week. The difference was fricken AMAZING. Like, it actually scared me a little when I went to get on the expressway today and I was doing 92mph like RIGHT NOW. $499.00 from Moe's for tuner and Unlocked PCM swap. HemiFever tune for only $125.00 more.

I'd do a header swap before I ever touched the inside of the engine (unless you have cam/lifter failure already). Shorties as a min but preferably small diameter long tubes.

I thought about long tubes. I had a few questions though no one could answer or agree.
A. Which brand?
B. Can I use my stock cats? I've only seen only one post of someone using their stock cats. I'd like to avoid the CEL and a tune if possible.

If that's your build down below ,how are you getting away with a 170 t-stat /deleted shutters / ported throttle body with out it being custom tuned already. You aren't getting away with a 170 T-stat with out it being custom tuned,as a canned tune still won't let you run a 170 T-stat and deleted shutters with-out a cell There's ways around the cel you'll get for removing the cats, usually anti-foulers with a little steel wool will defeat the cel from removing the cats.My wifes untuned 2019 6.4 Challenger has been running around with no cats for the last couple months with no cel,and all i did was run the above anti-fouler trick

OP wants all that, a cam, and long tube headers without a tune...

Had that setup for 4 years now. No CEL if that's what you mean? I have "Jason" kit for no shutters. The 170* never trips a CEL. Its not cold here. I'm in AZ. So no CEL for last 4 years. My last Ram had 180* stat, also no CEL for the 2 years I had it. I assume your on the east coast?

You're the only guy running a 170 T-stat on a stock untuned truck with no cel.You better go buy a couple lottery tickets, lol. Outdoor temp really doesn't have much to do with whether 170 thermostat trips a cel or not.You can get away with a 180 t-stat on an untuned truck with-out a cel usually, but you're the only guy running a 170 t-stat on an untuned truck and getting away with it,like i said you better go buy a couple lottery tickets,as you have horseshoes up where the sun don't shine, lol
