For whatever reason I seam to mess with my truck more in the winter then the summer. Boredom I guess. Which sucks because I've never had a garage I can work in. Hopefully soon.

Ive always had a garage....the reason I had to redo the trim was because I needed to make the openings taller to fit my RAM :) Did that part back in June but just procrastinated on the trim work because I figured it would be a PITA. Which it was, especially considering Ive never done any vinyl siding anything before.

Vinyl is easy when you are installing it. But once it's up it's a pain to make changes and have it blend in and not look like a patch

Took longer than expected to get everything sealed up last night. Had to remake all my mounts. They pushed the low beam projectors to far forward so that I could only adjust them so far down then they'd hit the eye lid. Everything looked leveled in the garage but as soon as I back out and had some distance I could tell they were still off. Tweaked them the best I could on uneven ground. I'd say they are 99% straight. Tonight was the first official use of them. Need to adjust the driver's side up more. First thing I noticed is a sharper cut-off line and I need to mess with the driver's side hid bulb. I don't think it's properly seated with the morimoto bulb holders. Second the width is at least twice what it was with the basic alpharex projectors. Third and the biggest reason for stage two was the high beam upgrades. Between having the projector shield dropping and the morimoto HB led highbeam projectors, the highs are perfect

What is wider? And is that a good or a bad thing?

The overall beam pattern width. From hot spot to edge (where the light drops off) I feel is double what the "stock" projectors produce. So you get a greater illumination of the side of the road. Great on back roads, which is 75% of my drive to/from work. So definitely a good thing. Plus I added these as fog lights
Swatow Industries 2PCS 3 Inch SAE... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DD8PRVL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
And they help a lot with foreground lighting both in depth and width. I metered one of them and at ~20' measured about 350 lux.

Quick pic. I did end up tinting the upper and lower plastic pieces. They blend in more

Installed the morimoto xb55 5500k hid kit today. What a pain not having everything inside the housing. Will find out in the next couple of days how the output is compared to the Innovited 55w hid's and if my truck has any issues with them

Had a chance to drive with the morimoto xb55 hid kit. They look slightly brighter than the Innovited 55w kit. I'm going to run these for a while since it was a pain to install them. I still need to adjust my headlights a little and it's going to take a while to get used to the steeper step in the cut-off line's.

Do you have any pics with the innovited 55w kit?

I have the same kit getting ready to go into a set of eBay Dual projectors...I like that style better than the quad.

I don't. It's hard to get a good representation of them. They always appear brighter in pic's. I'm going to try and take a pic of the xb55 morimoto hid's I'm currently running tonight. They are really close to the Innovited 55w hid's. I'll try and play with filters to see if I can get a good pic of them

This is the best representation of the output I could get right now. I used the closest filter on my phone to get the correct color and brightness. This is at about 25'.

Interesting builds. I'm going the opposite direction. I currently have mini h1.7. The cut off is great and pretty happy with my setup but I just want something different. I feel I may be down grading but not really sure.

From the pics, would tsx lens be a direct swap? Or possibly retro tsx complete housing with proper adaptors be better than going mini h1 or d2s? I may eventually go this route if I'm not happy with the stock alpha projector. I have a 3d printer at my work to make an adaptor.

That I have no idea. The stock alpharex projectors are decent. If they had a bi-functional feature I probably would have left them in

Good to know they are decent. Willing to sell/ship the originals? I may investigate a bolt on swap.

I don't have the stock one's anymore. Otherwise I'd give them to you.

I bought these originally for my build then decided I wanted the morimoto H1 7.0 projectors. I should have saved some money and use these.

https://www.lightwerkz.net/index.php/components/hid-projectors/super-h1-projector-7-1.html

The cut-off and the output is the same. I'm going to retrofit a set of quads and put those in and the profile HI-LENSE highbeam projectors.

I'm pretty sure I may have seen your build but what is your set up again?

FYI I did not have to cut anything to fit this particular shroud. Most round shrouds require cutting. Not bad for black or painted housing but pretty difficult for Chrome.

Good to know. I think if you are looking for something different for a projector set-up I'd either go to a DS2 5.0 or the MLED 2.0. Lightwerkz has them on sale for $288. I almost bought them. But was searching around on Facebook marketplace and found a different set of wheels for my truck. So no new projectors for now. I really want to compare the MLED 2.0's to the xb55 morimoto hid's I'm currently running.

I will say that although the stock alpharex projectors have a good cut-off and output (better than the oem projectors and tyc replicas) the lack of bi-functional feature makes them kinda useless for a retrofit. Plus they are bolt on. If you are looking to change things up in your setup I'd consider adding either the profile pivot Hi-Lense Led highbeam projectors (will fit with zero to a very little modification without a shroud) or the morimoto HB Led highbeam projectors (depending on the shroud used will determine how much needs to be trimmed, they are a 2.5" projector)

Installed today with incandescent bulbs. Man not really sure if I like the look. I may just be accustomed to my quad build. Cut off seems OK. Real test tomorrow when my xd 5000k bulbs come in. I was running 4300k before.

Retrofitted quads definitely look good. I like these but have been considering building my quads and and maybe selling these. You won't be impressed with the high beams unless you upgrade them also, but even then it's OK. They are definitely a good upgrade over stock and even better when upgrading the bulbs. But compared to a built set they are just OK. Alpharex put out a more true 5th gen looking headlight. And those look nice. They have a bi-functional projector because it's a single projector set-up.
