If your starting from stock would you say a TB or TC or CAI first. What's the best for a first mod. I kind of want to stay away from a programmer due to warranty. Mine has a lifetime power-train warranty I'd rather not loose.

Torque converter is going to show the biggest gains. The intake and TB are going to help responsiveness, but the converter is going to give you that down low grunt that these trucks are missing.

Sounds like the guy that did this test left out the part about having a custom tune. Adding a 5mm bigger throttle body is not going to add 27hp. No way in hell.

Wow, this is a more than 6 year old thread. At the time, this customer was running the canned Diablo 93 octane tune. We have seen dyno numbers that ranged anywhere from 6hp to 26hp. 1/4 mile gains have ranged anywhere from .03 to .15 and 1mph. The more you have done to the truck, the more you will gain from a ported throttle body. If you are stock now then a ported throttle body is not the mod to start with. If you already have an intake, headers, and tuning, then the throttle body is a worthwhile mod.
