So about a month a go I posted about some grinding being heard from the tranny. Dealership said its normal operation. Now, keep in mind, this is my work truck. I don't abuse it but every once in a while it's fun to break it loose out of a turn or something. Every time i break it loose in a left turn, I hear grinding from the rearend when it's regaining traction. I'm not talking about a 1 tire burn out, it still does a full drift. It's fully stock, open diff. Any ideas of the grinding? Obviously it's under warranty but I don't have time to go out to the dealership for a little while.

All these issues with stuff grindin is starting to make me feel like I should've just stuck with Chevys.....

when you here what you call a griding noise by any chance is your traction control light flashing.
im not questioning your your mechanical knowlage just that I run a mobile mechanic service on the side of my mechanic job for the Canadian forces and I did have a lady have me drive her truck around for 2 hours trying to get a griding noise till I did that and she said that noise there and it was the abs modulating loud

Please help! Today my new 2013 Ram 1500 that I love and adore started making this grinding/ratcheting sound from the shift knob when I put it from park to reverse. I never heard it before and I had the truck for 5 months. I took it to the dealer this afternoon and their transmission tech didnt know what to tell me except that they hadnt encountered this problem yet in this new model and to come back tomorrow morning so that they can look into it. I am 1000 miles from home in so.Cal. and am afraid this is bad. Did this happen to anybody?
