Regear and cheaply are probably not going to be in the same sentence anytime soon, unless you do the work yourself. Wild one has probably done it as cheaply as anyone. If you have to change the gearing, setting up your gear tolerances needs to be done by someone that has lots of experience.

Crazy expensive. You should be looking at no more than $750 for the work. You can get ring and pinion and gear install kits from moesperformance. You should be paying HALF what you were quoted. Are you taking it to a dealer or elsewhere?New York :-( everything is expensive here.

In my opinion you're better off finding a low milege original diff with the gears you want,from say a wrecked truck,then re-gearing your own housing,as the factory probably does the best job of installing the gears.Plus if you shop around,you can usually find a used diff in good shape for less then it'd cost you to re-gear your original diffI expect to pay.a pretty.penny but dealership wasn't in my plans as I don't think they are too versed in that where I'm from... I was thinking maybe a transmission shop??
