I'm looking at the MPC remote start kits for tip key model Ram pickups.
Does anyone here have one of the MPC remote starts installed ?
How fast was the installation and subsequent activation from there website ?
The kit is listed on Ebay and Amazon for $169.95 with free shipping.
Also opinions and experiences with other manufacturers remote start kits will give me other options to consider. Thank you for your advise and opinions

I paid about $75 total to install factory remote start in my truck. There are quite a few threads on here that detail exactly how and what’s needed. Might be worth the search.

My problem is the fact that my Ram is a 2016 and to add the factory remote start requires me to buy another RF hub.
The RF hub installed at the factory cannot be enabled to do remote start.
That's the reason the oem remote start kit for the 2016 ram is almost $300.00 without dealer activation of the sales code

Thank you all for the information.
So all I need is the hood switch, new rubber key fob inserts. Plus check the BCM connection pin 11 to see if it has a wire connected for the hood switch.
Then to have it activated.
That makes it a lot easier than what I was thinking it would be

That is what I did. I used AlphaOBD, if you have an android phone/tablet it’s only 40$ and you can add a ton of other features.

I think ALFAOBD is currently $49 and you'll need an OBDLINK MX or MX Plus to interface with the truck. The MX+ is around $100 but I saw a couple of the older MX on ebay for around $25 - $30. The only difference is the MX+ works with IOS and Android where MX is Android only. The ALFAOBD app is only available on Android or Windows.
