I remember being in Palo Alto CA a few years back. It was in mid-November. I flew from Winnipeg Manitoba wearing a light weight jacket. It was colder in Palo alto than it was in Winnipeg. Dress for the season but bring a sweater.
Alot of Texas was colder then Calgary yesterday, lol. But we don't get +10 /50F temps in Jan that often ;)

I remember being at my brothers place in Calgary years ago, we had gone out for breakfast and it was a beautiful, sunny morning. When we got back to his house, I phoned my boss back in Winnipeg a few minutes later. He asked about the weather, I was in the kitchen looking out the window and I told him it was beautiful. Then ...... I walked into his living room and wondered who had hung the snow storm in his front yard.
I've encountered weather changes like that a few times in my life. Once when flying, that caused a huge "pucker factor" .... We had to search to find that seat cover. :)

I have a 2014 1500 Sport 5.7. Within the last 2 months by average MPG have gone from 11.5 to 9.5. Here within the last week it has gone to 8.6. I Mainly do city driving and haven't done anything differently. I haven't added anything to the truck, drive it the same as I always have, and same routes. Take kids to school, go to work, use q few times a week for work (not hauling anything), pick kids up and home. No check engine lights either. Curious if anybody else has ran into this issue or may possibly know of any causes I could start looking in to. Thanks in advance
I had that happen when I swapped my thermostat to a 180 degree. My mpg dropped below 8. Try a new Thermostat, it's an inexpensive test.

Idk what area you are from but, are you remote starting and idling for a bit? Checked your air filter? Buying good quality fuel? After those options have been considered, find a good quality injector cleaner, take it on the highway and give it an Italian tune up.

I don't know about your California gas but i have a 22 Bighorn with the 5.7 hemi and burn 89. I get 16 in the winter and 20-21 in the summer. Of course, I'm 77 and my need for speed went away years ago so i have a light foot on the pedal.

My gen3 gets 14 on/off frwy & city. I drive like I stole it. I usually get 70-80 thousand on plugs. The gap gets really big after that =bad mpg. Also my injectors got some trash & my mpg went from 14 down to 11 mpg & No Codes. Changed em with a used set that I cleaned . Went back up to 14mpg.

Quick scanned replies.

One thing you can do is get a scanner on it and see in live data what is going on with O2 readings and fuel trim. Looking for O2 reading lean causing fuel to trim rich.

So if that is the case you have to determine what/where is the issue.

Certainly time for maintenance and anything not done on time that could be related. IE spark plugs wear causing more stress on coils

Depending even a newer O2 can be contaminated.

Leaks anywhere air is moving through engine and anything that measures like MAF
I agree fuel and temp effects things.
Best of luck

For anyone thinking of buying O2 sensors from Amazon, save the time and effort buy from the dealer or a reputable auto parts store. I tried the Amazon units and they caused more problems for me. They went back and put in a decent set! One thing for certain, if you go the Amazon route, the sensors will be easier to change because you will be doing it in a week or so!

Definitely not good for your engine. By today's standards your engine was ice cold it will not run as it should.

The stuff you find on Amazon are almost all cheap Chinese knockoffs now. Literally everything is now, you really have to look for stuff on Amazon for name brand stuff.

That's funny as the first upgrade in the Mopar Hi-po packages for the Hellcats is a "180" thermostat. The engine goes into closed loop mode at roughly 160F

Back in the day we often ran a 205 degree tractor thermostat, I think it was from John Beere. Same size as the mopar one, only hotter.

Although a little severe as a cause, have you checked your tire pressure lately? Possible dragging brake?

Sounds typical of a failing O2 sensor.
