As i said i have Gatorbacks... I thought they were pretty good but got pinched going over a curb against my running boards and tore my driver front side off. Dealership says they are covered by warranty but still gust a pain to drive there to get 1 flap put back on.
Were you backing up or going forward? Pinching them between an obstacle and the tire is pretty common when backing up and they will all rip off when that happens. If the mud flap was strong enough not to tear off it would damage the mounting point, a.k.a. your truck with enough force.

I went with the husky brand. One of the best additions I’ve made yet. Definitely keep the rockers from getting banged up as bad. If you plan on going bigger and wider....it’s a must have

Going forward, Pulled out one of the inside screws so the tore off the rest. Pulled out the very inside screw but the other two are still intact. Not sure how it will affect having the new one re-installed.

I have 2 answers. No if you have normal tires. Yes if you have wide groove tires that can toss a rock at a windshield like a bullet.

I have them on my 2016 Ram 1500 Hemi. I live in Belize and the some of the roads are sloughy and muddy. They keep my Ram from the rock chips and rock dents.

Yes, I have a set of the Mopar “RAM” gatorback on me lady! She’s lifted 9” and 37s so it has kept my paint nicer looking.

I'm shocked about the overwhelming Yes to mudflaps.

Mudflaps/Splashguards are one of those First Day Mods. I have them on everything. Yeah they aren't pretty, but they save the side of your vehicle. And if need be, they come off in minutes.
