Any idea where I can get a replacement muffler like this?
I have a 2008 Ram 1500 with a 3.7L V6.
This has a single 3” inlet and outlet and is 26 ¾” long.
According to the dealer, the OEM part number for this is 55366318AC and has been discontinued.
Notice the hanger on this is welded on?
Anyone know of a replacement that has a hanger like that.
I trying to figure out how I would mount an aftermarket muffler.

Why not just get an aftermarket muffler? Seems to be a few of them out there.

I bought what is supposed to be an exact fit muffler.
It's a BRExhaust Muffler 21568MGF part number 100-7243 from AutoZone.
The outlet side measures 3" the same as the original muffler.
The inlet side of the new muffler is 3.25".
I'm trying to figure out what size is the the inlet side of the original muffler that is still installed on the truck.
I want to make sure my replacement muffler is really an exact fit.
Yeah, I could take it off and measure it but if it's not the same as my new muffler then I'm stuck without a truck until I get the right part.
I guess I could crawl under the truck and measure the circumference of the inlet side with a piece of string or a tape measure.
I just thought those specs might be posted somewhere.
I hope this makes sense.

The pipe ends on my original muffler were split, I guess so that the clamps would make a better seal. My replacement does not have split ends. Should i cut the sides of the pipe before installing it?
