Hi guys. For those who have tried or have currently installed a replacement muffler, which brand has more drone. Flowmaster or magnaflow?
I'm getting one of these installed next week but I'd like the best sound with least drone

Opinions please?

I've done the Magnaflow, and was pretty happy with it. However, there was still a little drone.

I liked the Magnaflow better for drone. It didn't rust, either.

The Magnaflow will hold up better and drone less than the Flowmaster. Message me if you would like a quote on anything. We have most options in stock!

I have 24" Magnaflow. A little drone with MDS, but not annoying and goes away at highway rpms which is where it could drive you crazy.

Magnaflow is a direct flow design. From reading the posts on RF, its seems consensus that chambered, and shorter mufflers drone more.

Had an 18” magnaflow on my ‘14 RAM, at about 4 years & 40,000 mi on the muffler the drone started to get really annoying. Guessing the packing was wearing out.

Which one sounds better? It's hard to tell from the limited YouTube videos out there

Try a 22" magnaflow with 5" tips. Nice deep throaty sound. Tips make as much difference as the muffler does.

I agree 5" tips give a deeper tone. He didn't ask, so I didn't volunteer the next modification "fix" after muffler....

I have the Flowmaster Super 44 and love it... may do a resonator delete soon... only drone is at certain rpms with MDS on.. I always have mine off as I can stand the cylinder deactivation. I was nervous it would be to loud...its not. Sounds great..... they r both great additions which ever u choose. Had a Magnaflow on my Superduty and liked it, my mistake was I guess I didn't choose rite one as it wasn't much different than stock

Update. Got a magnaflow installed. Sounds a whole lot better. I can hear every shift now. I suddenly hate MDS though as you can hear it everytime it goes in and out. Not noticing any drone though.
Overall I'm pretty pleased with the results.
