Morning all, just looking for a bit of help here. I am installing six 7 inch LED pods on my roll bar and need some reassurance. Each light is 120W, so 720W total, therefore 60A draw. Is this correct and if so what would be the best way to wire this to a suitably rated relay. Run 6 wires from the bar to the relay, or solder the six lights into one wire at the bar before running to the relay under the hood. I m concerned about the draw been too high for a single wire. Any help would be greatly appreciated B4A650FC-132D-4F12-BBA5-C9E4C30D41E5.jpeg

Dont worry about watts in this case. There is no way that could pull 120 watts, light output maybe, what is amperage rating on it? You can run them off of a 9v Duracell (I have) so if it were me personally id run a 25a fuse from The battery using 12 gauge wire use a relay for your switch and then run the wire back to the light bars. 12 gauge wire and 25a is probly still overkill but build it to last and you won't have to do it twice.

Do You have an amp clamp? Your best bet would be to hook one up to a battery, measure the amperage and then calculate it for that. I run 6 led cubes, a 50 inch curved and a 42 curved light bar off the same 25a circuit. Have for about 4 years no problems at all. Sometimes being used 8 hrs straight.

This is what I figured, manufacturers 'wordsmithing'. There is no information on the website, only what is below

LED Power:120W (40 x 3W High Intensity LED).
Beam Pattern: Spot & Flood Combo Beam
Input Voltage: 9-30V DC (fits 12V, 24V vehicles)
Working Lifespan: Over 30,000 hours
Working Temperature: -40~85 degrees Celsius LED
Color Temperature: Pure White 6000K-6500K
Material: 6063 Aluminum Alloy Profile, High quality Led Chips, PC Lens
Waterproof Rate: IP67; Waterproof, dustproof, quakeproof and anti-corrosive.

I have a multimeter, i will hook it up to a battery and measure the amps, see what happens

Yeah that's the safest bet. I'd be willing to say they pull about 4-6 amps max each. I'd be really surprised if they pulled more. Remember your truck runs at 13.5-14.5 volts so if you have 10 amps at 12v youll be about 8 amps at 14.5v somewhere in there.

I hooked up my 4 4" Rigids as well as a 42" curved light bar with any relays. For my light bar I purchased a Rigid wiring harness and hooked them up to 3 individual toggle switches. Easy Peasy Japanesey.IMG_8538.JPG

Your formula for watts is

Volts x amps = watts

Example 12v x 6a = 72 total watts.
