That is the issue I am having with starting this on my 99 that I am planning to restore with my son. Everything is so expensive and you have to do it or it will just come back to bite ya.

Great work. I sure wish I had the time and space to get started.

Yeah it's definitely expensive. Parts that I didn't even think about keep adding up. Like the parts in the pic above. It's for the parking brake lever in the drums. Apparently not something that is easily found and if you do apparently are expensive. Plus finding some small parts that you'd think would be easy have been a problem. I still think I'll be close to my target on cost for stage 1 the build. Stage to is paint and body (minus floors and possibly making 1 bed out of 2). I just want to be able to drive it. I'm not diving too deep into the motor/trans. Few small maintenance thing's for now. Later on I'll do some upgrades.

Installed the transpo on the alternator. It'll be a while before it's installed on the truck but didn't have much to work on today.

Broke down and ordered a bunch of parts. Fuel line's are already here and roughed in. Ordered mounting clips, brake line's and fittings. Decided to not use the oem size wheel cylinders and bought the "upgraded" bigger gm cylinders. Got the fuel take cleaned up and drained. Pulled out around 14 gallons of diesel fuel (good thing I have a lot of brush I have to burn). Fabbed up fuel tank straps. The passenger side parking brake cable finally came in so I can start getting the rear brakes put on then it'll be a roller.

Passenger side brakes are done. Driver's side drum is on. Passenger side will have to wait. The new studs are slightly bigger so may have to get them pressed in completely.

Not going to get as much done this weekend as I wanted because I didn't order the correct size clamps I needed. But can run the brake line's on the axles.

Fuel lines are run and zip ******* for now. Wiring is in place and was able to run the main rear brake line and grabbed a couple of clamps from Lowe's today so I could hold it in place.

Not much going on with the truck. Trying to decide what to work on next. I get a plan then change my mind because other small things should happen before. May end up working on the cab and get that going to switch thing's up.

I have decided to only replace the trans pan and service the trans instead of replacing line's and removing the factory trans cooler and adding a aftermarket one. I plan on manual swapping at some point so no since of dumping money into it. Plus I haven't driven it so I'm not sure how well it works.

Well figured out what's next. Hopefully this weekend. Burnt my left palm pretty good this past weekend playing baker. So it's making it difficult to work on anything right now.

Started on prepping for floor replacement. Gonna have more rust repair than I thought. Looks like I may have to take the back side of the rockers out. The inside of the rockers are rusty but doesn’t look like I'll have to replace them just clean them up and treat it.

Got the passenger side floor pan roughed in. Needs a little tweaking but is is just about ready to be tacked in. I won't know if the rocker can be saved until I grind it down and see what it looks like.
