Full rebuild should be done each time. I think FCA knows this but some dealerships take the easy route. The biggest concern I've seen is the number one main bolt is an oil passage. It is full of sludge an shrapnel when I pulled mine.

Not only that but the biggest mistake people make when this type of failure occurs is reusing the intake manifold.

Brand new or rebuilt engine didn't clean the intake manifold or replace? Guess who's learning a $10k lesson.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does the intake manifold have to do with a failed lifter/cam? There's no oil passing through it, only air/fuel mixture, correct?
Or is it a physical thing where it can only used once and won't mate up correctly a second time since these things are not metal anymore?

my 2011 hemi cam/lifters went at 90k miles recently. Luckily the truck was in excellent shape otherwise so I was able to trade it in for a good value. I ended up going with a new ram with the pentastar. It's nice to not have the anxiety of the hemi now at least.
