With sway bar connected and new bushings in. There is a difference. However it’s not really as noticeable through the pictures but it’s about 1” less compression in the front and the rear is absorbing that difference. Also noticed this the other day when I swapped my end links. My truck is sitting flat and measured flat but my sway bar is up on the passenger side about 1/2” with the driver side connected. Anyone ever experience a bent sway bar from factory before?

Lots of new stuff! Me likey!

As for the sway bar.....i wonder if it's preloaded to try and cure the drivers side lean we get due to the gas tanks. I've never really paid any attention while I had mine disconnected, but now I'm curious.

With how gigantic the sway bar is I'd be beyond impressed if you bent it.

Rear control arms and track bar have been purchased. Now just waiting on kooks and I to come to an agreement on an o2 **** location for my wideband sensor placement. Looking like passenger side behind the flange on the y pipe pre cat same orientation as their pre cat o2 sensor

The deed is done... well I shouldn’t say done but tune is being loaded then just need to log and send in for an update. Curious about the trans shifting points. Guess I’ll find out after i take the truck out. Had him set my idle to 650 through his tune. Truck sounds more throaty with the tune so I can tell the timing has definitely been adjusted.

Interesting. So it’s close to the same length but higher perch. I wonder how the 5th gen stock springs compare to the 4th gen stock springs in length to see how much lift they are actually seeing.

Yep. I haven't seen a spring comparison though. Rears springs fit for example in both models. Some are running icon 1.5" coils for example. Icon is advertising them in their case as 1/2" lift rear springs on top of the ORP ones. There are also a few Rebels now running Clayton 2.5 coils (I did introduce them to the Clayton party :)) I have as they provide 1.5" more than their ORP springs. ORP is 1" taller than their std coils but RAM being RAM went with ***** like rates like our stockers though in their fairness the ORPs are supposed to have progressive rates.

So far today. I have to figure out how to bend my 1-1/2” tube for my bars. Working on the pinch weld plates. Planning on doing boat sides but need it practical for steps at the same time so might go flat. I think boat sides look better though... opinions? :blah:
Edit: girlfriend said flat. Better for steps. Lol.

Decided to do a bit more digging. It appears the 5th gens use a shorter spring hence the higher perch. Carli has the 5th gen kit out and according to their site they had an issue setting up the 5th gens because of the space allotted for spring and front travel maxing out their front kit at 9” travel and 2.5” lift. Any more and they were binding the springs. Pretty crazy. I know our rams can get between 9-10” of front travel on stock geometry with new UCA. Guess I’ll stick to the 4th gen 6112 and just use my 1/2” puck on top to counteract my bumper weight. Plus with my new steps going on that’ll probably be around 150lbs added as well. Then add in my bed rack in the future too. May have to swap my rear eibach springs out for Clayton springs when I build my bed rack.

@ram1500rsm I’m no welder but it’s not going anywhere. I’ll finish weld the back once I pull them back off. Debating on if I feel like welding a bracket up to the cab mounts. With just these 6 points of contact and 12 bolts this thing is already beastly solid. I’ll have to figure it out after welding in the actual kick out/step and see how the leverage feels. It’ll be a 5” extension off the main rail to put it just inside my tires. It’ll make for a great door dinger.

One of my buddies did his sliders completely out of square tube, mitered in for the angles. Turned out pretty nice. I'll see if I can dig up a picture

6.1 gaskets came in. I was looking over the headers and wow. Some of the tubes are physically touching. There is no way to wrap this neatly... Also looked at how well the gaskets match the ports.

Have them coated with Ceramic coating inside and outside.
I used Embee Performance Coating before on my long tubes (they're local to me so i don't even have to ship them, just drop them and pickup when ready), 2300F coating inside, 1700F coating outside. for some could be over the top. i could grab my headers with my hands after running the car the whole day. That's how good ceramic coating can be when done right.
Find a local company that can coat headers in your area and ask about ceramic coating them. Would look better than the wrap and will last a lot longer too, and you can even pick colors :)

Have fun.

I tried finding someone to coat. Contacted 3 local companies with no answers. My brother in law does powder coat so I was going to try and have him do the ceramic but he’s not equipped for spraying ceramic. I’ve got one last place I’m going to try. I’m installing them next weekend if I can’t get them coated.

Finally found someone to coat them. I will be going either titanium or black. Same cost. 300$ for coating. Pretty excited. Leaning towards titanium. Debating on asking them about coatings for my steps as well.
