I bought my 2013 Ram new in 2014 and it came from the dealer with Navigation activated. I noticed last year that sometimes it would show the general direction I was traveling but have me located several miles away from my current location. Later it would be accurate again. Then one day I tried to use and it indicated I needed to activate per the attached pic. I have called the dealer where I bought it 3 times and Uconnect 3 times. Where I ended up was Uconnect told me the old activation had expired and I had to purchase a new map. Do maps expire? I only ask because between the questions I have asked the dealer and the questions I have asked Uconnect it seems no one really knows how these things work.

Someone at Uconnect should be able to help you. The TSB states right in it that activating the Nav is permanent and not transferable....

I bought my 2012 ram new in 2012. My factory nav still works and I've never updated the map.

They are feeding you a load. Once activated the maps are permanent. Make them provide you with an activation code. Either something has failed or a pushed upgrade has bricked the GPS. I have to say that the Uconnect system is my least favourite part of my Ram and Jeep. Love everything else but that needs serious upgrading or punted for another supplier.

I will make a guess, your GPS is off & out of date, did it start acting up 6 months ago

Maybe the radio itself needs to be updated FIRST
after that is done the Navigation Version has to be updated

Neither of these will change your current maps, it will or should correct the GPS

You will need a thumb drive formatted to FAT 32 with 16 GB or less

Good Luck
